PlayStation Showcase Next Week Rumoured to Have "Super Announcements"
PlayStation recently announced their next major digital gaming showcase, PlayStation Showcase, which will air on September 9th at 10PM SAST. Sony has stated that it will focus on new games and updates from PlayStation Studios and other partners worldwide, with no PSVR2 announcements planned. It's been a while since we've had a major PlayStation showcase (not counting the State of Play streams), but rumours online hint at their being some big surprises planned.

According to reputable insider Andy Robinson of Video Games Chronicle, he recently stated that he was told about their being "super announcements" planned for next week's PlayStation Showcase. What this means is anyone's guess, though many fans are hopeful that Sony will finally break the silence on the next God of War game, which was already revealed in a teaser last year. However, announcements in this context likely points to new reveals, and from there, it's anyone's guess. We still recommend keeping your expectations in check regardless.
As for what could possibly be given some time and attention, we think PlayStation might spotlight some of their exclusives confirmed for next year. These include Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, which we're hoping will receive a release date or window.
Beyond that, we can only speculate about what else might arrive. Hideo Kojima will likely present a new trailer here for Death Stranding: Director's Cut, and we're sure to hear a bit about Kena: Bridge of Spirits as well. In terms of wilder speculations, we have yet to see the mysterious other project that Akira Yamaoka was attached to, which the music composer said would be unveiled this summer. Though unlikely, Capcom might bring their next game to the showcase, and some are hoping that it could be the long-rumoured Resident Evil 4 remake. We'll only know the full extent of these "super announcements" next week, though.
