Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood Expansion Detailed
At Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, details about the MMORPG's latest expansion were revealed along with its release date. The expansion will have a worldwide launch date on the 20th of June 2017.
The expansion will primarily take place in the Ala Mhigo zone, though other new zones will also be a part of the expansion.
Other updates include the introduction of the Red Mage job, a new beast tribe along with new Primals to combat, and two new high-end Raids, The Bend of Time — Omega and Return to Ivalice. Players will now also be able to swim and dive in specific bodies of water, though only flying mounts will be able to swim.
The combat system will also be receiving an overhaul, while a much-needed inventory expansion will be coming. The level cap will be raised to 70 and a 4th residential area is also being included that will, reportedly, affect the main story line.
Unfortunately, support for the PS3 version of the game will be coming to an end alongside Stormblood's release.
