Cyberpunk 2077 is on track to becoming one of the biggest games of 2020, and with the pedigree of CD Projekt Red behind the title, it's sitting well with gamers. However, it seems like the developer won't catch a break after the release of Cyberpunk 2077, as the studio announced that they will begin work on another game set within The Witcher franchise. Unfortunately, it won't be a sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or be called The Witcher 4 for that matter.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer Poland, CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński confirmed that a small team inside the studio will helm a new entry in The Witcher gaming series, but stated that it's not meant to be the fourth title. Meanwhile, the rest of the studio at large will focus on post-launch support for Cyberpunk 2077, as well as new projects set within that universe. They plan to kick things into high gear once Cyberpunk 2077 releases, but the team has apparently already begun work on the next Witcher.
