Ashen is Finally Coming to PS4 and Switch This December

@IkariX I recently Played the Final Fantasy 7 original for the first time After playing FF7 Remake Part 1 and I didnt enjoy the original at all,It wasnt as good as FF8. However My Current favorite FF game so far is FF16.I also feel like you cant really compare the original to the remake trilogy untill the trilogy is complete.

I still can't get over what an amazing game Blood Of Dawnwalker was. I feel depressed now after finishing it. Everything is so well done in the game, side quest and all.

I haven't even touched Rebirth yet lol and I really enjoy the Remake stuff, even more so because it's a sequel to the original, but FF has gone downhill overall imo. Trails is my current favourite JRPG series, and it's really not even a close competition.

No one is stopping you from enjoying the FFVII Reamke games. But my point still stands, it's poorly written fanfiction. First time I played Final Fantasy VII was in 1999. Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil 1(I still have both), were my first 2 PlayStation 1 games. So I've played Final Fantasy VII numerous times over the years. What what the Remake games are, are nothing more than imitators.

It's mass market slop at it's finest. Does it make it terrible games? Not at all, Remake Part 1 was fairly decent. But let's not pretend that any of the remake games are as good as the original. I hope Square Enix doesn't touch Final Fantasy VIII. Because they'll ruin that as well.

@phreak - Dont't get me wrong, many fans have valid criticism's with the game and I respect that. And It sucks when a game you're excited for doesn't hit the way you'd hope. I mean as fans we want to enjoy all entries in our favourite franchises.

I feel that as I'm getting older I rather just enjoy games for what they are.

One thing that I am not happy with is that FFVII Revelation will not be fully on disc, even though physical discs are included.

I'm a pretty hardcore FF fan but if you love the Remake series, as I do, you also kind of have to understand that a lot of contentious decisions were made in the story and it's just not gonna land with some people. I totally get why some folks don't like it or agree with the changes.

I do hope however that the announcement of FFXVII is close, feels like the FF fandom needs a new mainline title to reset after the Remake series lol

Ashen is Finally Coming to PS4 and Switch This December

A44's Souls-like co-op RPG, Ashen, is finally out of its one year Xbox and Epic Store exclusivity deal. As such, the game will finally be heading to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, GOG and Steam, and will hit these platforms and stores on December 9th.

Ashen is a stylised Dark Souls-like RPG set in a sunless fantasy world where, essentially, it's the players job to bring back an age of light. If you've played any of the Souls games, or their many inspired ilk, then you'll know what to expect in terms of combat. Ashen does make some interesting changes of it's own. First off, you'll have a companion, either an NPC or controlled player who'll fight with you on your journey and, secondly, there's a form of town building incorporated into the game. The further you get, the more your base settlement grows.
