Netflix's The Witcher recently exploded into mainstream popularity for a number of reasons, from Henry Cavill's appealing take on Geralt of Rivia to the devoted fans of CD Projekt Red's video games, as well as the void left behind for epic fantasy television by Game of Thrones. The show - and its insanely catchy song "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" - has become embedded in pop culture, which is great for exposing the great tales of The Witcher to wider audiences. A prominent community artist has taken it upon himself to then imagine Geralt as a DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11 - to great results.

Australian artist Kode A, or otherwise known as BossLogic, recently uploaded his take of what Joaquin Phoenix's Joker would look like in Mortal Kombat 11. However, he didn't stop there, as he also created an image of what Geralt of Rivia would look like as well.

Like Phoenix's Joker, BossLogic uses a film/TV version of the character instead of the traditional one from the video games. In this case, he imagines Henry Cavill's model, complete with the armour and aesthetic of the Netflix protagonist. This, of course, has sparked a lot of interest in what Geralt's move set and fatality would look like. If you have any ideas too, we'd be happy to hear them.
It's not far-fetched to consider that Geralt of Rivia could potentially become a playable fighter in Mortal Kombat 11, as the game's creator, Ed Boon, had been recruiting his own roster of pop culture icons - from the Terminator to Spawn. Outside of CD Projekt Red's games, Geralt has also appeared in two other video game franchises. He was included as one of the staple guest fighters in Soulcalibur VI, and had an entire story arc dedicated to him fighting a Leshen in a Monster Hunter: World DLC. The sky is the limit for Geralt right now. Let's get a petition going for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate next.
Mortal Kombat 11 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
