The Cape (Original and 1969).
The 1969 story was pretty meh, but required as it sets the scene for the main story (despite it being released after).
The main story was pretty great, exploring some dark elements as to how different people with react having gained super powers. Ultimately enjoyed it.
Manhattan Projects vol 1.
Loved this. Nick Pitarra's art has a unique aesthetic to it that really works well with the story, and I'm digging the color contrasts they constantly use. Story wise, you've got Hickman writing which is usually a win, though not everyone is a fan of his meticulous and often very dense, multi-threaded plotting.
A definite page turner.

Kick Ass 1 & 2- wow, what a spoiler! glad they never add that to the movie. Prefer the movie which is rare coz I normally prefer the comics

The movies differ from the comics a bit! But they are good in there own right!
Dont forget to read the Hit Girl stand alone! Also very good!

Not worth it, those 3D covers and . issues were mostly really bad. Joker's Daughter was horrific.
They were not that bad, some of them where good!
You manly buy those 3D covers for the collectability & course they look damn cool!!
I have seen the Jokers Daughter 3D cover going for R1000!

Batman vol 2 (N52)
Enjoyed it. The Court of Owls story was pretty great, always nice to see Bruce come to terms with things he thought he knew a lot about but didn't. As usual Cappulo's art is spot on. Hope whoever picks up on these threads again (if Snyder isn't around anymore) that they can do it justice.
Shazaam! Monster Society of Evil.
Not bad, but hard to recommend. Firstly I'm not the biggest fan of the character, but since this is considered to be an origin story that's pretty self-contained I figured it was worth a read.
I love Jeff Smith's Bone (haven't read it all), but to me his writing and drawing style isn't the best fit for real-world material. His dialog felt very, unreal for lack of a better term, and the art far too cartoony (weird complaint for a comic book I know).
Glad I read it but not a book I see myself ever going back to.

Animal Man & Swamp Thing Vol 3 (Rotworld)
Read both books in unison as there are some issues that intertwine, though ultimately both stories follow separate threads for the most part.
Story wise it was a solid effort, though I think that it was dealt with way to easily and conveniently. Without spoilers, I didn't buy the way that Buddy and Alec managed to fix everything at the end.
I liked Rotworld as an event, and the build up to it was great, but the finale was unconvincing.
I did however really enjoy the prologues, Swamp Thing's more than Animal Man's, but both solid endings.
Art wise I found AM disappointing, but that's more because I just don't enjoy Steve Pugh's style, Travel Foreman spoiled me for me, wish he stuck with the book from start to finish.
Swamp Thing is for the most part a gorgeous book, thanks to Yanick Paquette remaining the main artist, but there's a fill-in guy for the 2nd last issue that just looks awful, completely breaks away from the overall style and ends up looking far too cartoony.

What an insane book. Hickman continues to come up with some pretty wacky scenarios, as we see more of other parties involved in the book, along with some interesting developments.
Art remains great (though definitely not for everyone), as the juxtaposition of red/blue remains an effective mechanism.
If anything I hope we start to see more of a grand plan unfolding rather than just the general looming threat they've casually mentioned along with a variety of separate plot lines. Knowing Hickman though, I'm sure there's a point to everything.
Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and compelling.
