@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

Question...I reached Level 5 on my second profile... got the game on my phone and tablet...

On my first profile I selected the Mystics...how do you skip the team selection part, or must you choose a team...I notice you do get players that is not affiliated to a team that is pretty high level.

As soon as you tap on a gym after reaching level 5, you will have to choose a team. You can't "choose" to not be affiliated with a team, but if you never tap on a gym you will never be forced to join one

Spent 3 hours at Nelson Mandela Square this morning. Gained 2 levels and a few new pokemons (and like 100 more Zubats! Its like they are following me! ). Also tested out this site
https://pokevision.com
It does actually seem to mostly work. They are continually doing maintenance on it to improve it, so its only going to be getting better.

I spend around 4 hours yesterday at Carnival Mall and did I get caught some crazy ones…

One player placed a lure down at one of the Pokestops and at one stage there were about 15 players on that spot.

I also tried my hand at a battle in a gym and I got my @$$ handed to me…

I caught a Pokemon on the strangest place… while sitting on the loo….hehe…

Also I notice once you use the off line version of Google Maps, the data usage is very low.

I must really give that offline Google Maps a try, it seems

My wife and I noticed a Lure at the park at the end of our yesterday afternoon. We went out there, and met around 10 guys living in our area. It was a lot of fun, as we already knew most of their usernames from battling the gyms nearby. We ended up actually placing a second Lure, and just hanging out for a while.

One of the guys I met at the park yesterday mentioned that Monte Casino is packed with Pokestops. It also appears that there is a Pokemon Go get-together at Monte this coming Sunday. Looks like it could be fun https://allevents.in/johannesburg/pok%C3%A9mon-go-hunt-monte-casino-joburg/177470746001863#

I haven't encountered that before. The Pokestops by my house and my work have been the same since I started on the 9th.

All of the Pokestops are based off of locations that are either murals, statues, or "places of local, cultural, or religious significance", based on what users have registered in Ingress (Niantic's previous game). I'm assuming that if a new one has appeared, that means that somebody registered a new location in Ingress, and it filtered through to Pokemon Go?

Either way, that's really lucky for you

You are so lucky!
The closest stop is 1km from me and I need the GPS gods to be in my favour to get it without walking another 2kms as its on the other side of my area.

Going to try get the complex fountain across the road or the dog park around the corner made into a stop, just need to get a photo to submit to them.

Anyone know if the AWX shop is a stop (haven't driven past that way in a while )? We need to all submit a request for it, if not

It might have changed, but I know that originally it wasn't. The Post Office at BWC is a stop, and the Virgin Active is a gym

But I second this. The comic shop close to me is a stop. It would be great it AWX was one, too!

You're the second person who I've heard of that that happened to. Meanwhile, I have ~80 Pokeballs, ~100 Great Balls, and ~90 Berries. The rest of my bag is filled with various potions and revives. I guess you need to go camping at that Pokestop like you mentioned

Today, in Starbucks, I caught a Nidoking! I powered him up as far as I could, and he's now my strongest fighter.

I really did not had a lot of opportunity to go past Pokestops the last few days.

Saturday I am going to camp at a pokestop to get balls. I see 50 balls is cheap and I still got some credit on my Playstore account...wonder if it will work

I found that malls are normally very good if you want many Pokestops in close proximity. Rosebank Mall has 10 you can reach in about 5 minutes walk, and Cresta Mall has (I think) 7. Hopefully you can find enough this weekend to supply you for a while

With regards to the in app purchases, I am not sure how well they work with it not being available officially here. Let me know if you give it a try.

In other news, I've heard 2 different sources say that this Friday the app will officially launch in SA. I'm looking forward to getting the most up to date version

The in game purchases reflect the currency as Rand.

I did am update on Sunday and the game runs smoother and don’t get the freezes after you caught something.

I think it might work the way Ingress does where activity in an area activates PokeStops, the same way Ingress portals are activated by area activity

Will check out that Google Opinion Rewards app. Thing to keep in mind though with these surveys that give money/rewards is that you usually need to fit a certain demographic to paricipate. Sadly as South Africans we don't also fit into a group that companies are interested in getting feedback from. I see that the comments on the app seems to suggest that people are not getting surveys frequently so it would suggest that the app follows this model.

I still won't say no to free stuff if its easy even if its not frequent. So thanks for the tip!

Missed out on a Charizard yesterday. Was sitting in traffic and thought to open the app. It was on my tracker but I had no way to get to it.

Got a Clefable at the petrol station though (seems the local Shell is a hotspot by me ). Spent 10 master balls and 5 berries on it. Thing just wouldn't stay in the ball! Was sure it would be like a 1k CP, but its a 30 CP. lol. How hard are the 1k CP ones to catch then and how are their people that have them in gyms already?
