@Death - I'm sorry hear. It seems such a common awful disease for people and families to have to deal with. Like you say, supporting a cause like this - means so much to those afflicted by it.

@Tea - That's amazing news. Having lost my father to cancer a few months ago, it warms my heart to see the support for a worthy cause.

They have it listed here: https://nexushub.co.za/product/control-resonant-pid285827.html

Just keep in mind that the physical edition was delayed from Remedy's side, so releases like a month after digital.

I'm around 11 hours in.

Pro's
Graphically...the best game on this Gen by far. Lip Sync, and Voice acting is out of this world.

Gameplay...Super Responsive and smooth.

Story...Very Good so far. I hope it ends the way it has started.

Combat...So many ways one can take on any challenge, be it Bandit Camps, Hunting or just plain old Killing, the choice is yours of how you go about it. I love the traps and the many ways you can use them to your advantage.

Con's

I'm playing the game on hard difficulty, apart from falling to my death a few times, I have yet to die in Battle, the game seems a tad too easy.

There is too many items in the world to farm for crafting. you will NEVER be able to run out of amo, potions, traps etc. You can run for 10 minutes and farm enough stuff to have a full arsenal of things to assist in battle.

In some cut scenes my character hops into different places or up and down.

So many weapons, Traps etc to assist you in battle, but none is really needed. I could probably finish the game with just my bow.

Over All Thus Far: 8/10 for me.

I'm also about 10 hours in and I have to say that it is a beautiful game, although I do find that the character models in cutscenes are a bit off. Its the eyes and I know every game has that problem but Aloy's eyes look too close together and everyone doesn't seem to have any expressions in the upper half of their faces, almost like they all had Botox shots,

I also noticed that when Aloy walks into bushes or through snow, she clips into the area, doesn't push the grass aside. I notice that the wind moves the grass/bush, but Aloy doesn't. Its kinda weird. Rain is also weird, nothing gets wet, You can see the drops, but that's it. During one cutscene it rained and all I saw were the drops hitting the characters and then disappearing as if absorbed by the models.

Gameplay wise, I like the combat, much more tactical and skillful than say AC games. You have to circle, move and dodge attacks. I agree that there is a shedload for resource gathering especially as you invest skill points in the Resources tree, but I prefer that to the trope of, "don't use that trap/arrow as there could be a bigger badder enemy you need it on later" of resource management. I do like how no where is safe, if you are not aware of your surroundings you will run into a herd of machines that will attack you. I am disappointed that besides dangerous machines there are no dangerous animals, would've liked that double threat to keep me on my toes.

Story is decent, the whole post-post apocalypse is great, but I hate that Aloy is some Christ like figure with a greater Destiny than even she realises nonsense.

Over all, I also reckon an 8/10 and a very good game that shows off the PS4s power. I am playing on a normal PS4 and this game, TBH, shows that the PRO is a waste as it looks as good as anything on a high end PC.

I'm only 4hours in, busy weekend lol
Looks GREAT on the vanilla PS4! Who needs a Pro.
Gameplay is good, loving the open world! You level up quite fast in this game.
Story starts off predictable, but takes some nice turns. I Really want to see where this goes!
If you watch The 100 tv show, more or less the same sort of thing with the tribes. After the end of the world happened, just with machines.

Finished it yesterday in 67 hours (as mentioned in the other thread).

I gotta say this game was utterly fantastic.

Spoliers…

So seems they are gearing up for a sequel with that ending. They purposely mentioned the Odyssey mission and it’s failure. I have a feeling that it is the origin of the signal that awakened Hades. It also has the first version of Apollo on it – the one that was not as restricted as the later version. So if there are people on that spaceship they would have generations of people being educated about a planet they would never see, but also about the concept of war and the use of machines in war. Sylens has shown that his motivation behind everything he does is acquiring knowledge and access to Apollo. So even if there are no people on Odyssey he might get access to the unrestricted Apollo data through Hades as Hades already has some connection to Odyssey.
