anyway possibly a little bit disappointing for an old timer (this Disney cannon bollocks).
The Imperial plaque on his tunic has twelve squares on it—six red and six blue—which signifies that he's an admiral.
In old canon, this white uniform belonged to an Imperial Grand Admiral.
In current canon, white uniforms are worn by members of the Imperial Security Bureau.

So I finally watched Star Wars Force Awakens after getting the Blu-ray the day it came out.
I was surprised at how restrained it was. The first 30 minutes was a bit of rehash of A New Hope but it was great to see the old gang pop up half way through. I would rate it higher than Return of the Jedi.
BB-8 was pretty cool, best droid ever?
Finn and Rey got better as the film went on.
Kylo Ren was a huge disappointment, not so much the character but the choice of actor. The guy has the physique of a hat stand and when he took off that lame helmet he looked like a middle age woman with a 1950s haircut. Phantom Menace had only one thing going for it and that was Darth Maul. The next film needs a decent baddie sidekick to offset this dude.
Looking forward to Rogue One.
