Does the exclusive to Xbox have a duration? Is it timed? How long is the duration? Can we expect a PlayStation 4 or PC release in the future?
Yes, our deal with Microsoft has a duration. We aren’t discussing details of the deal, and are focused on delivering a great game on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

They can't tell us yet because they didn't plan on making it a timed exclusive.
Once they saw the backlash they got, they quickly changed their tune.
In terms of gameplay, one of the most exciting new additions is crafting. Taking a page out of The Last of Us and Alien: Isolation, Lara will scavenge for metals, minerals, plants and animal hides to construct things like poisonous ammo, traps, grenades, molotov cocktails and healing items.
Creatures will have more advanced AI and react to the climate. Some animals will only come out at night or during the day, and hunting for certain hides will add a Monster Hunter-esque element of tracking your prey.
Puzzles sound as if they're going to be a little less hand-holdy this time around. There will even be some decoding required as players try to decipher an ancient language that will shed new light on previously unclear secrets.
The Xbox 360 version of Rise of the Tome Raider will be handled by Nixxes Software and that Crystal Dynamics won't compromise on its vision for a next-gen Tomb Raider by diluting it so it works on Xbox 360. "The existence of that game isn't limiting our work on the Xbox One version," promised Crystal Dynamics' Darrell Gallagher.

So keen to play this game as soon as its released but I'm gonna wait, Tomb Raider has always been a PS game for me. Might end up just getting / playing both![]()

I know they walked back the XB1 exclusivity immediately after the announcement, but have they ever released anything since to show that they are working on a PS4 version? Just ask as I read an article towards the end of last year (maybe Destructoid or Joystiq) where they speculated that MS had paid for proper exclusivity on this title.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I also remember all the backtracking right after the announcement.
I'd guess tho it'll eventually come as another "definitive edition" at some point. After the announcement there were articles looking at total sales figures and 70% of sales for the new Tomb Raider were on Sony platforms making Microsoft seem an odd choice for total exclusivity. Probably more a Microsoft response to Uncharted 4 at the end of this year.
