You guys gonna double dip for the PS4 version next year aswell. Or do you think the xbox version is the "essential" experience? (CONSOLE WISE)

PS4 version will most likely be the GOTY edition. Alongside a version released for X1. So if you are not picking it up now you can't go wrong with waiting either. Depends how soon you want to play it.
Game sounds pretty good but seems it was a poor deal that SE/ MS made considering how low sales seem to be atm. Not going to change with the PS4 release I think.

I really am feeling more and more inclined to try the Xbox 360 version of the base game now and pick up the (hopefully) complete/definitive/goty version on PS4 at the end of the year.
Has anyone tried the Xbox 360 version and, if so, did you find it still enjoyable?

I've tried it out for a bit and I really enjoyed what I played. From a gameplay point of view, it didn't feel like it had been stripped down at all. The systems that were in the first one were still there and I had a blast. Areas are much larger than the first, a little overwhelming at times in fact.
Visual parity though was a bit of a mixed affair. Where the previous game had been built on tech for PS3, etc, this one was built on Xbox One hardware and then ported to 360. There were some places that looked really good, stop and screenshot good, but some places seemed a little less detailed. I don't think it looks as good as the previous game overall, but that should only matter if the visuals matter to you. That said, I'm also using a 5 year old + HDTV and I find there's quite a few visual flourishes in many new games that my TV doesn't display when I see them running on a friends TV.
