The killing in Batman and Returns also generated controversy, I'm old enough to remember. The problem with Superman wasn't just him.killing zod, it was that he didn't seem to care about civilian deaths during the first scenes.

This movie will be a joke. Least Henry Cavill is a good superman

There are also enough comic books pre Man of Steel where he essentially ignores collateral damage in favour of just getting the job done. One of the more notable ones coming from Richard Donner himself, whom many credit with creating the version of Superman that we all want. So yeah.

I honestly can't remember any of the controversy that Burton's Batman films generated, but also at that time I wasn't as exposed to geek/nerd culture as I am today. Back then it was basically just me getting looked at oddly

The only thing that makes me a little interested is that last scene where Wonder Woman saves Bat's from Doomsday. And seriously Doomsday?! There are so many more interesting villains they could've used. Doomsday is like Venom, a product of the 90's where he should stay.

Great choice on Doomsday, that is awesome, pretty much the perfect villain for them to put into the movie to show how they come together, it is a massive threat with no emotion that will just destroy everything in it's path, so great choice with that. If they are willing to go with Doomsday here is hoping Darkseid shows up when they get the Justice League started.

Okay first off, Ben Affleck as the Bat. I was like everybody else, going OH NO!
But the first time I saw him in the Bat suit, I thought he looked good he could pull this off. & now with the two trailers, I think hes gana make a good Batman. A more older, mature Bruce/Batman then we have seen in the past.
Wonder Woman looks great!
The guy playing Lex is way to young, but we will see how he does.

Yes, they need a big villain to unite them. Doomsday is perfect, I just don't like how they got there.
Theres not enough time in this movie to introduce Darkseid, & use him. Thats why Doomsday works, not a lot to explain.
They should build on Darkseid, like Marvel is doing with Thanos.

@KF really not digging what I have seen of Lex. To me Lex should be your cold, calculating businessman. Steve Jobs like, charismatic yet menacing. This Lex is just a clown.

Like I said Doomsday is a product of the 90's that should stay there. There is nothing interesting about him. Marvel has a villain problem, but so does DC it seems. Braniac would've been a great villain to unite the Trinity as he is often more than Superman can handle.

@Magius Braniac would have been better, but also a lot to explain. Theres already too much going on is this movie. Zod is made by Lex into Doomsday. Doomsday smash, simple & to the point.

Lex is a cold blooded, evil genius. Bryan Cranston would have been perfect, especially after his Breaking Bad portrayal.
