It looks pretty good. The raytracing is actually quite impressive. It runs well and each of the characters really do play differently. But honestly that's about it. It's pretty mediocre and the gameplay highlights that the developers not only didn't get the characters and franchise it's based on, but didn't know WTF they were doing either.

Play it for free, it's fine. But don't spend money on it.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Trilogy

Finished in the sense I completed TRI and TRII, then used cheats to skip rubbish stages in TRIII. I also finally tried out the expansions for each and "The Lost Artifact" for TRIII proved the best part of replaying that game. Story-wise it's a bit weird as lacks voiced cutscenes, but each of the 4 massive stages is diverse, tough, and full of weird secrets.

Otherwise an excellent remaster, outside of crappy modern controls (embrace the tank controls!) and few areas being so dark I found myself switching back to the original visuals to find items and switches. I really hope TR: The Last Revelation gets the same love, and they can throw in TR: Chronicles for completeness' sake... and maybe TR: Angel of Darkness for preservation (and it had an awesome soundtrack).

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
Still fantastic! But the last quarter of the game has way to many shooting sections, to close together & that go on a bit to long.

Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception
Silk smooth pacing, compared to the second game.
The first & third games have QTE final boss fights. But they are far better, then the final boss fight in the second game.
Game also looks fantastic!

Uncharted 4 A Thiefs End
Fantastic!
Longest game in the series, but does not feel like it.
Best looking game on the PS4!
Great boss fight at the end.

Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Pretty much dlc for UC4.
Still good though.

Infamous Second Son
Still a fantastic game, even 10 years on it looks great!
Map is not that big, but nicely populated. Next to no loading.
Not much to do, but the powers are fun. Video power is the best!
Great voice acting, story is okay. Can play through on good or bad.
& probably the only PS4 game that uses all the controller options.
Touchpad, speaker & motion senser.

Still looks great.
Some good levels, & some not so good levels.
Love the ending.

Still Wakes the Deep

I enjoyed it, but that's down to the cool setting, foul-mouth Scottish cast, and really brisk pacing - not the gameplay, It's basically The Chinese Room doing a more streamlined version of Frictional Games' SOMA/Amnesia: Rebirth in which the gameplay sections are simplified for storytelling purposes. To the point where my brain would barely engage as I followed obvious platforming yellow markers, hid in the only spots available to hide, and completed old-school QTE-style scares. Definitely worth a go on Game Pass or PS+ if you're subscribed though.

I tried it last night, and discovered that the Gamepass version actually lacks two graphical rendering options (DLSS + FSR), both of which are available on other platforms like Steam, and the Epic Games launcher.

I've since learned that this is a known issue, and to my knowledge the devs have not yet given any indication as to whether or not they will rectify it.

Just thought I would put this here in case somebody wants to make use of those options for improved performance on the Gamepass version.

Great game, Ubisoft should make more games like this. Petty its gana fly under most ppls radar.
Mix between AC & Zelda on the Switch.
Great map, story, combat & LOTS of puzzles.
Only negative are the accents they try do.

Ryse: Son of Rome

Visuals and voice work aside, a very average game for 2013 that I really enjoyed in 2024. I miss "AAA"-style games that didn't demand 25+ hours to complete and have an actual ending I can walk away from with a sense of completion. The QTE style finishers definitely grew old by the end - but at least they're only for bonus XP/health regen and don't fail God of War-style and force you to trigger them again.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
Played this game day 1 on PS3. I was so sure I had played the Definitive Edition on PS4, but no. So gana replay the new TR trilogy again.
Looks great, but its more of a survival horror then a TR game. Plus Lara turns into Rambo half way though the game lol
Still a great game though!

Didn't really enjoy it the first time around, same thing the second time.
Its got its highs & lows.
Looks great, & way bigger then the first game.
DLC is not good though.

Elden Ring and the DLC

Well, I am calling it done. On the last boss and he is an utter Chad, so not sure when I will give him what for.
Fantastic game. The Dlc is very lopsided in difficulty though and has a lot of enemies that feel very cheap since they just do 10X normal damage. No skill, no finesse, just splat. Kind of pushes you to cheese them tbh

Really am thinking of NG+, but I think I might need a break (And so does my poor controller)

Really wish there was some way to test builds without Larval tears though. Guess NG+ will give me more and I already have the weapons

Still Wakes the Deep (Asus ROG ALLY Z1 Extreme/Game Pass)

One of the better story driven "walking sim" horror games out there. Great story, and there are some terrifying moments sprinkled throughout. Would love to replay it at some point, likely on the PS5

Unfortunately, based on my experience this game is near broken. Honestly not sure if it's because of the Ally or that the Game Pass version just sucks. The sheer amount of lighting glitches killed a lot of the atmosphere (totally bleached lighting during what should have been dark sections, as well as rain pouring in during indoor scenes...)

Oh well. Hopefully it gets patched.

Update: Fully finished Elden ring. Turns out a Colossal hammer to the face was just what Rhadahn needed

Ending for the DLC is... odd. Until I remembered that the DLC technically takes place half-way through the main game.

Went back to mess up all the fire Golems, and finishing a questline that I completely missed, then started NG+ just for ships and giggles. Saw the intro for the first time. Not sure why it didn't play before.

Anyway, will do bit of poking around and trying out a few new builds.

Thinking of moving over to Batman Arkham Knight after this, or maybe finishing up AssCreed Vikings

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Enjoyed this game a lot more the second time around.
Also forgot what a good looking game this was!
Less action then the previous 2 games, & a lot more exploration & puzzles.
Story was okay.
The dlc was also a lot better.

Been playing little bits of Elden Ring NG+. Wanted to try new builds but forgot you need weird egg lady to respec your character. Slowly working my way up to the academy
Anyways, NG+ is very odd. Almost no incentive to go into dungeons, because I already have the summon or weapon from each (Unless you want to duel wield). Considering I am also level 270, most things just melt from 2 hits. Then it hit me... This is what an EASY mode would have been. Not that great. You lose the feeling of dread and anticipation. Still a very good game, but the NG mode is more for speed running. And getting REVENGE

Weird that enemies don't scale with your level in NG+. Pretty much takes the challenge away, like you said.

Just look at Bloodborne's NG+... anyway we don't talk about that here

They do scale, but after the DLC I am just way overleveled. And with the new armor, talisman etc, I am whooping arse... Or whatever these things have

Blasphemous blade is still the MvP, now even stronger with Magma Talisman, Golden vow, Flame grant me strength, Dual weapon talisman, Shard of Alexander ect ect.
Stack bonuses and dominate.

Will probably leave the game for a while. Got my money's worth from this one

Dead Space remake (PS5)

Had such a great time. Feels like a carefully and sensibly reproduced homage to the original Dead Space. Thankfully it also has some much needed gameplay and QOL improvements, if just to keep it in line with the later games, gameplay-wise.

Nice to have a NG+ save ready and waiting for when I dive back in at some point to get the rest of those sweet weapon upgrades.
