@tea: I was NOT expecting optional Beat Takeshi camera modes and Samurai Champloo style lo fi music.

Morning.

Have to say..impressed with Ghost of Yotei after that showcase.
Gameplay, graphics. ect looks great.
Fighting also looks way more smooth now.

Definitly playing it with the Japanese du band subtitles.
Like Yakuza/Like a Dragon and Tsushima it just feels wrong to play it with the EN dub. lol

AEW Fight Forever
Fun wrestling game.
Bit barebones though, & create mode is severely lacking.

XIII
Played on PS2, remake on last gen is a dumpster fire.
Standard corridor FPS, with a nice comic book theme.
Controls have aged very well.
David Duchovny & Adam West voice characters.
Great twist ending, until the "to be continued" pops up.
No sequel after 20 years

Star Trek Voyager Elite Force
Remembered it being harder the first go around. Then I got to the final boss, difficulty spikes!
Gameplay is pretty much based off Half Life. But the cast for the show, do all their voices. So makes for a authentic Trek game.

"Finished" Yakuza: Like a Dragon
I put that in quotes because... yeah
reachd chapter 15 and did a run of the dungeon there. Things went well so I figured I would make a run for the end. The boss fights are massive difficulty spikes in this game. This was 18:28. Fight after fight after fight. No save points.
Finally got the "last" boss health down to 1/4 and then.... LOADSHEDDING.
My tv and PS5 is on a UPS, not and inverter, so I am quite literally fighting for my life over here. Finally beat the ^%^%. Story story unskippable story. Starting to sweat here.... ANOTHER boss fight. Let rip with my strongest skills. Finally beat him.... ROUND 2! AAAAAAAAAARGH!
beat him as the UPS starts to beep
Skip all final movies, see the credits and slam shut down. Will have to see if the game saved it as my win

Duuuuude. What a horrible way to end!

Did you at least finish part 1 of the special post-credits boss?

Those Yakuza games are crazy with their cut scenes
When you start nearing the end of one of those games, get the dippers...its gana be a while...

For sure. I remember playing one of them on the Ps3 or 4 back in the day and the cutscenes where so long the controller goes to sleep

Update... It didn't save. Not replaying 3 odd hours just to get the game clear.

@Teb Also you "finish" the game after 50hours of gameplay, & only get 30% complete

ASTRO'S PLAYROOM (PS5)

Finally got around to playing this. What a fantastic game.

It's a fun platformer that also pays homage to the whole history of PlayStation.

(Spoiler) Too many highlights to name, but two of my favorite moments were the game's final boss; the T-Rex from the PS1 demo disc; and hearing/seeing the PS2 startup screen after finishing one of the levels

Peter Jacksons King Kong
WOW! Can't believe it took me almost 20 years to play this.
This game is one of the very few exceptions of games based on movies, that is actually good. & by good, I mean excellent!
Playing on PS2 & looks phenomenal for a 2005 game.
The cast from the movie, voice their characters.
The controls are great, for both Jack & Kong.
You jump between Jack & Kong, following the events of the movie.
There are even good fire physics.
Have no negatives for this game. Must play!!

Nice one!

I played this back when it launched. The game's atmosphere blew my mind.

Definitely an overlooked gem.

Came bundled with my Xbox 360 (it was a PS2, Xbox and Xbox360 launch title). PSP port was rubbish though.

For a game that came out in 2003, it looks pretty damn good.
Only negatives is no commentary & Jeff Hardy.

El Paso, Elsewhere - It's basically Max Payne with monsters, if Max Payne went down the rabbit hole of a drug fuelled, surrealist nightmare bender. Excellent noir writing, brilliant voice acting, amazing soundtrack and wonderful bullet time combat. Just pure, [censored] brilliance.

MAX PAYNE (PS2)

Stumbled upon this on PSN. Hadn't played it before, so thought I'd give it a spin for giggles.

The good:
Frequent checkpoints.
The story escalates in the best and most insane way.
Bullet time is always satisfying.
Max has permanent I-just-ate-a-lemon face.

The bad:
The last few chapters have some ghastly difficulty spikes.
Max's movement is just God-awful.

Overall, despite having to tap into my inner Sekiro-Zen state at certain points, I still had a lot of fun, and look forward to diving into MAX PAYNE 2 at some point in the future.

On Xbox BC:

COD MW2 - still mostly fun. Bullet sponges annoyed.

Battfield Bad Company 2 - still great. Prefer more realistic shooting here than COD. Great trolling of MW2 too. Oscar Mike! Stay Frosty

RESIDENT EVIL 4 (2023)

Well, that's a wrap.

Found the last half of the game to be a bit of a slog, but other than that, had a great time.

Putting it on ice before doing NG+ and Separate Ways.

COD Ghosts
Played it back when on PS3, replay now on PS4.
Holds up pretty well still.
Loved the story, still waiting for Ghosts 2. But the fan buys hated it, so

Lies of P. Such a refreshing take on the genre itself and holding on its own very well - too well for the expectations set before its release. If you’re looking for an ARPG to fill the gap between ‘em FromSoftware releases: this is it. Albeit not appealing to all, it might just be the fairytale adaptation within a medium speaking to a major audience.

How is the story telling in this? Some of the Souls like games feel like badly strung together set pieces, and you have to go online to figure out the lore (If any)
