@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

It's pretty weird...
My pc has now spontaneously reset twice while playing... Will try play something else for a bit and see what is up

The Letterbox view is very annoying. Luckily you can switch it of on pc with the console command, but that changes the zoom levels.
Also it is currently capped at 30fps, with 60fps (activated with console again) having glitches, which they are "working on". I would actually suggest waiting for a patch, it looks like there are issues.

Def worth a play from what I can see though...

@Tea
It's... cinematic, but it does cut of some important parts. Apparently removing the bars only zooms in the view, so you lose some parts to the sides?
You get used to it pretty quick, so it's not a big issue

The beginning REALLY reminds me of Tomb Raider!
Upside down with corpses? Check
Sudden sliding down a chute and avoiding obstacles? Check
Landing in a manky pool? check

Now if only I can figure out why my pc is acting up in this game...

Seems my pc is behaving again... may have just been small power trips...?

ANYWAY, the very ungenerous save system sure adds a lot of tension. If you just spent 40 minutes carefully stab-killing 4 enemies and you get to a bomb, you really have decisions to make! Do you try to dismantle the bomb? (One chance. if you fail, you die). Do you just sneak around? But what about that crate behind it? could there be bullets in there?

Also a lot of -_- moments.
When you walk into a room, and there's a really obvious pack of goodies sitting right there in front of you, with a suspicious "corpse" laying behind it, gripping a sickle and trying not to breath

It's like

BUT... that box could have 5 bullets and if you can get through the trap using only 3 bullets, you score 2 bullets...

@ Scottie - another one of those polar review games. Essentially a game designed for fans of the older Horror genre titles. That's a good review though on par with how I feel about it:)

"The Evil Within is a generous game, lengthy but never repetitive, and the post-completion bonuses will thrill those who mined Resident Evil 4 for secrets long after the final credits rolled. Moreover there are jewels of design here to rediscover, traits and ideas that were lost by the many games that followed Mikami's earlier work. But it also eschews many of the modern improvements to the third-person action game, such as the ability to lock to cover or more general refinements to animation that make combat and movement flow more smoothly.

Shinji Mikami has yet to make a poor game, and The Evil Within does not blemish his record. But neither does the game enchant and disrupt in the way that Vanquish and the others managed. This is Mikami revisiting his past glories and, as such, it's both a delight and a disappointment."

This game is scary!! For my first attempt ever playing a horror game I had to choose this one (Horror Fan that I am), the Scenes were so intense it had me quivering in fear. *Noted that the lights were off for extra gaming effect*

Gosh now I understand why im told that between the two, Movies and Gaming are a complete different experience.

Great Game though

Looks like we MIGHT be getting a GOTYE.
It was apparently outed on rain forest France, for a Sep. release as well.
I have been holding out for a GOTYE, so I hope this it true.

More of a review than a comparison.
Nice to know you don't have to burn the bodies anymore
