From news we can gather, the controller is most interesting.
It clearly has improved analog sticks, as well as improved shoulder buttons (namely L2/ R2).
The touch pad functions as an additional button, and is multi touch for 2 points of contact.
THe d-pad also looks to be an improvement.. sort of resembling the PSV.
The light on the top uses three color LEDs that illuminate in various colors. This can be used to indicate player colour, or provide feedback such as a health indicator etc.

They really did just jam the touch screen in there didn't they.
don't see why they couldn't have put it on the back like the vita.
when i look at it all i can think of is those cheap 3rd party madcatz controllers. that said it does look comfy, especially if it has the vita d-pad which is actually my favourite dpad of all the current consoles out
as for the actual hardware i was pretty impressed, no more need to worry about streaming equipment(which should save me couple bucks hopefully)
the suspend mode sounds like a dream, since my attention span with games these days has decreased drastically rofl. pretty much all they have to sell me on is the games now, haven't seen anything interesting yet(Square Enix's flop of a presentation last night didn't help either). but all my favourite dev's were listed at the presentation so here's hoping something interesting pops up at E3(points at SE).

Or on the front and back like the Vita. I just hope they don't develop games that are TOO touch screen operated, it can get annoying at times, almost like QTE's does...

Agreed, but they shouldn't make it a function in each and every game. I loved UC on PSV, but I stopped playing it now due to the amount of touch screen crap you need to do, there is just too much of it in that game. It really gets annoying. LBP has a great balance of touch screen and gameplay imo...UC just killed it

Yeah - i think it looks great and a decent design upgrade to the normal dualshock design. That been the basic design since psOne days.
The touch panel will be most practical if used as a mouse cursor type control, especially in rts / puzzle/ strategy games. but again, not a biggy if they (developers) never use it. At least at heart the PS4 controller is still the some as the present design, which i love

Don't have an issue with the controller and don't care if no one uses the touch pad. I am just relived it's an actual controller and not some stupid tablet or move type thing.
Completely agree. We are still getting a camera with it though
what exactly is the problem with that? They are enhancing the social features of the PS experience and a camera is a large part of that for many people.
