Hey @Tea, any chance you can organise a copy of Silent Hill Origins for me? Doesn't matter which platform

@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.
Cathal

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

The patch notes for the console 1.03 release from the CDPR forums - http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/41395-Patch-1-03-is-now-LIVE-in-EU-amp-select-countries-(coming-everywhere-soon)?p=1705070&viewfull=1#post1705070

- Corrects a bug where the player was able to shoot bolts at friendly NPCs.
- Corrects an issue related to Stamina regeneration while sprinting.
- Corrects a bug that could cause spontaneous combustion of gas clouds.
- Reduces spawn times for certain groups of NPCs.
- Blood particles will now properly appear on water surfaces after foes are killed.
- Corrects a visual effect in the Wandering in the Dark quest.
- Improves foliage behavior in scenes.
- Reduces foliage shadow popping.
- "Melltith" sword is visible again.
- Fixes some minor graphics bugs in gwent.
- Corrects some missing translations in localized versions.
- Improves performance, especially in cutscenes and during gameplay.
- Introduces a number of minor improvements in SFX.
- Fixes an issue that could have caused an infinite loading screen in certain circumstances in Wandering in the Dark quest.
- Corrects an issue in the dialogue system that might have caused rare instances of dialogue looping in certain scenes.
- Improves stability in gameplay and the UI, especially during games of gwent.
- Upgrading items included in gear sets no longer destroys rune sockets on said items.
- Fixes an occasional bug in the Journal in the Fake Papers quest.
- Enlarges the loot pop-up window in the UI.

I installed it last night and played for a few hours and aside from better menu responsiveness and the quality of cutscenes, the big issues of reload times and framerate seem to persist. You can fast travel from southern Valen to Novigrad in 15-20 seconds but wait almost a minute to reload after dying or relaoding a save even if you're in the same location.

While I've never found the frame-rate that bad, I did do a Witcher contract in the swamp area in the south of the Valen map post-patch, and during combat with some ghouls in a misty setting, the framerate hit rock bottom, probably well into the teens.

Minor occurrences in what is otherwise a consistently beautiful game but I really hope they find a way to optimize loading from death/menu.

EDIT - this should be the same for the Xbox One but with the addition of the 30FPS v-sync as in the PS4 version.

The update imo made things worse. I now have a lot more frame rate issues than I had before the update. They really need to do something about the loading times, it's worse than what Bloodborne was when it came out.

Other than that, this game is quickly becoming my best SP game ever!

I'm currently in and around Novigrad/Oxenfurt for my string of missions and it seems much the same. Apparently 1.04 is on the way and it'll be interesting to see if what they plan.

A lot of people seem to be getting certain "guide elements" wrong, from what I'm seeing on the 'net. Can any of you explain a certain HUD element to me?

I've got a screenshot for you, it's the "diamond" with an arrow showing up, right of the Vitality bar.

See, I can't trust the other peeps because they're saying the Toxicity bar is "Adrenaline". Maybe they're thinking of the stamina bar? So, how can I trust someone who couldn't get that right?
Sorry this is the only screenshot I've got at present, will post a better one later if you want.

On a side note, would anyone like to help me bring Gwent to real life? We should totally get this game made.

@ DP - Yeah man...must be honest, the loading times when you die is ridiculous, it's honestly worst than what Bloodborne was at release I guess you should just not die lol!!! But yeah...very annoying!!!

Then the fram rate issues isn't something that creeps out every 5 minutes, I just haven't been able to put my finger on what exactly starts these frame rate issues. It's definitely not hordes of enemies and definitely not dense areas, as I've experienced it in dense and open areas, so yeah, it is an issue none the less, but one that only sticks it head out every now and again

I still think you should get it...it's really amazing!!! Well, imo at least. The last time I had this much fun in a game was with Dark Souls 1

I have the game haven't started yet, contemplating whether I should start or not. Load times don't bug me but glitches and frame rate will make me throw a game out the window very quickly.

From what I have read it seems like this game needed at least another 3 months of development. Everyone was like yay day 1 patch is only 500mb but how many more are following that? It's absolutely ridiculous. You release a patch and then immediately announce another patch, WTF? The amount of glitches and complaints I am seeing on Gaf is pretty upsetting as well.

@Mr Hat Thing - I think the diamond has an upward facing arrow in it. Just means you have unspent skill points to the best of my knowledge?

@DP - If you're not in a rush, probably wait out for some patches but overall, loading aside, the other glitches/frame-rate issues are a small percent of the overall experience.

Yeah...the good overshadows the bad 10 fold! I agree that patches one after the other is ridiculous, but as long as the patch actually fixes[censored] then I don't mind patches. I'm only now experiencing frame rate issues, whereas befor the patch, if I had 2 frame issues it was a lot. Could also be that I'm now in an area where frame rate issues occur more (I'm in the North west Part of Vellen), I don't know, it just seems strange that right after the patch I started experiencing frame rate issue

@Lurch, thanks I suspected that, but it was showing when I had none to spend, that's why I asked. Probably just a glitch.

Yip...and it has a very similar play style to Gwent

@ DP - Holy[censored] bro! Out of all the ppl this could happen to...it happens to you lol!!! I can fortunately say that I have not experienced that

I really enjoy RPG game when the upgrades, potions, gear, weapons etc actually makes a solid difference in a game. Last night I did a Contract and the monster I was up against would kill me in just 2 shots (he was only 3 lvl's higher than me).

I refused to give up, so After 3 failed attempts at beating him, a bit of head scratching, changing my potions, sign etc...I took him down and realised how easy he actually was to beat. I found more satisfaction in how affective as well as crucial your preparation and stuff you need to use for certain battles are, than beating the Monster. I made 3 changes and those 3 changes turned the battle in my favour...I love it!!! This game is truly a GEM!!!

It plays just like the Witcher 2 so there doesn't seem to be any change in the combat from what I remember. Characters and story is still good though so that will probably get me to the end. Have yet to stop in the game and go wow looks amazing or really feel like combat has some impact, there is some nice scenery though even with the black water

The leveling system is broken though, after over 2 hours of playing I am still level 1, the enemies I am currently fighting are all between level 5-9

The only ability points I have got are from places of power since the character levels up so slowly, the other annoyance is these places spawn high level enemies but when I get them to 30% health they disappear, pretty sure I'd get a decent amount of xp for those kills.

Not a great impression so far but as with most rpg's they only kick in around the 5-6 hour mark.
