First 18 issues are great, love Capullo's work! But the original artists & writers left after issue 18. After that it was terrible

Tales from Dark Crisis - collection of one shots (cash ins?) related to DC Dark crisis event. Mostly rubbish TBH even at 80+% off.

Giant Robot Hellboy #1-3 - fantastic but short series. Mecha hellboy vs Kaiju.

This was a terrific anthology presented to stunning effect in black, white and red only.

Finished Klaus #1-7 by Grant Morrison - a reimagining of Santa Claus as a 16th century ass kicker. Decent, started over Christmas and finished yesterday.

DC Universe vs Masters of Universe - hurt a little by too many characters but good read. Could be read as a standalone or as an important back story to main Masters of Universe series. Teela seeing all the Robin outfits assumes Batman is a serial killer of boys.

Frank Millers Robocop
This is based on Millers script for the movie, but the studio went a different route.
Still love this, they did use some things for the movies.

Red Sonja: Age of Chaos - decent series. Modern day Dynamite characters get sent back to Age of Hyboria. Chastity asks Red Sonja if she will meet He-Man and Skeletor.

He-Man and the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE VOL. 4: What Lies Within - Dan Abnet takes over series. Darker tone and different art style.

Rebel Moon: House of the Bloodaxe #1 - on the fence so far. Warhammer 30K ripoffs abound.

Good but artwork was meh. When Moon Knight and Punisher are not the most terrifying thing hunting the cartel (Toltec).

Finished.

Return to the previous volume 1-3s artwork very welcome. You can see who arrives front and centre of cover.


Savage Highway Vol 1-3 Pretty good, artwork was just OK but good twist in final volume.

Lady Mechanika: The Monster of the Ministry of Hell #1-4 - pretty good, prequel to original series.

Carbon - interesting biblical/climate change comic on drilling too deep (coal) and releasing 'demons'. Good.

Salt - sequel to Carbon, decent.

Barbaric Vol 1-3 (Murderable Offences, Axe to Grind and Hell to Pay) - terrific comic series from Vault. A barbarian with a magical axe cursed to help people in need. Great humour.

Rebel Moon: House of the Bloodaxe #1-4 - better than the films but that is damning with faint praise. Ugly art.

Ghost Machine: One Shot - interesting introduction to Ghost Machine. Image's vehicle for writer owned work. Rook caught my eye.

Rook:Exodus #1 - promising series on a colonial planet whose world machine (terraforming) has failed.

Chromonauts: Futureshock #1-4 - pretty good follow up to original series.

Chilling adventures of Salem One-shot - one off story about the cat from Sabrina. Pretty fun.

Hack/Slash Hot Shorts (One-shot) - terrible collection of two shorts.

2024 FCBD
Dark Horse - excellent, one Hellboy and one Stranger Things story.
Conan the Barbarian - pretty good sampler of new series.
Far Cry Cull the Herd Manga - antagonists of Far Cry 3 and onwards get pulled back into time by Batari (Far Cry Primal). Weird.

Great read!

Tom King's Nightwing series vol 3&4 - pretty good but soe one shots were terrible (imps)

Stray Dogs #1-5 Disney animation meets silence of the lambs. Awesome.

Vampirella Strikes Vol 1 (#1-5) - pretty good follow on to the excellent Vengeance of Vampirella series.

Hit me #1-5 - decent series

Bad Mother #1-5, brilliant series.

Redemption #1-5 - excellent

Belit & Valeria #1-5 - started off good and then went off the rails half way through.

The Cull #1-5 - decent story with superb art. Tried Black Cloak but it was the opposite with artwork that jarred.

Local Man #1-5 - best new comic I have read in a while. More subtle and clever than Boys with plenty of in jokes like the Mystique like super hero called SoftKore. Washed up super hero returns to home town in disgrace. Crossjack is a 'Hawkeye' who can hit anything with anything except a bow and arrow. Local uber guy has no issue telling him what a POS he is and is a running joke throughout. 10/10.

Local Man: Gold - fun but non essential one shot set between first two story arcs.

Moon Knight: City of the Dead - mediocre standalone story.

Jia and the Nian Monster - meh.

Wolverine: Old Man Logan 0 - Warzones! More meh!

Stray Dogs: Dog Days #1-2 - great series that has all the back stories to the main series.

Cyberpunk 2077: Where's Johnny - decent and short one shot.

Primordial #1-6 - terrific comic.

Local Man #6-9 still the best recent comic I've read. Second mini arc finished.
M.O.M #1-3 - Emilia Clarke's comic. Just OK, tries too hard, too many buzzwords and not enough story telling coherence.

Red Sonja: Vulture's Circle - OK

Vampirella Strikes! - Finished whole series. Looks like it got cut short. #6-9 quickly finished main story arc that was sub par. Follow on standalone mystery in #10-13 far better.
