So! With the newly upgraded website, just thought I'd start with comics and trades! Mwahahahaha!

I'm busy reading "Out There" (from Cliffhanger comics - Wildstorm) at the moment.

Comic book I first read yeeaaaaars ago! And finally found someone who had them! (Though just lend them to me.)
Now at Issue #6 out of 18.
I just love Humberto Ramos art style! It's... different.

Superman: Earth one (Graphic Novel)
Simply the best Superman graphic novel I've read. It's pure brilliance!
And the art style is just awesome!
A must have for sure!

Army of Darkness Omnibus - Includes five Army of darkness trades in one, including the movie adaptation, Army of Darkness versus Re-Animator. A really good deal I think and a good read. The only problem I have with the Army of Darkness series is that each issue follows the same layout in what happens. Arm of Darkness versus Re-Animator is by far the best of the trades collected there.

Superman: Earth One - What can I say, absolutely brilliant. A great story and new take on Superman that manages to retain a lot of the old myth. A much more character driven, SF story than a full out superhero tale, it's complemented by some fantastic artwork. Can't wait for the inevitable sequel.

Iron Man Noir - Awesome 1940's take on Iron Man. The Noir line of comics is easily my most preferred line from Marvel now. An easy comparison for this graphic novel would be Indiana Jones meets Iron Man while fighting Nazis. And yes its as awesome as it sounds.

Next up for me is gonna be the Indiana Jones Omnibus Vol 1. I've been waiting a long time to get this. . .

blackest-night-hc[1]

I have just finished reading this, AWESOME!!! Now i see what the fuss was about.
Ok so I need help, my firsst question is what do I read next? i wana know more about the story!

Second question, whats the story with Brightest Day? is that the aftermath of blackest night continued? or it it seperate stories?

I dont think I will collect single issue comics, i like reading the whole stories, whats that called tradebacks?or i dunno. So any advice? I have no patience to wait for the next issue to come out.

I can't see the pic, but assume you read In Blackest Night?

In Brightest Day is the sequel to that and deals with the aftermath of that whole war and the subsequent resurrection of the previously dead.

Trades are what you are looking for and those should be out already. IIRC In Brightest Day finished in January, but I could be mistaken. There was a website I used to use called the Trade Paperback List, I think that the address was www.thetpblist.com That should list the trades that are available for pretty much every comic book out there.

Brightest Day is available in hardcover right now.

Brightest Day

Blackest Night itself branches of into a whole bunch of other graphic novels. Blackest Night Green Lantern Corps, Blackest Night Black Lantern Corps, Blackest Night Rise of the Black Lanterns, etc. You'll find, as well with Brightest day, Blackest Night Superman, Blackest Night Flash, etc...

I'm not sure f the Superman Blackest Night issues are available in a trade, or i theyre going to be. Since I haven't read any of the other collections besides Blackest Night, I'm not sure if theyre contained in them. I'm going to have to find out.

Well, actually, so far there isn't enough issues of the "side stories" of Blackest night to make individual trades.
What I mean by that is, the Blackest Night: Batman run for example was only 3 issues long. Superman one was also about 3 issues. And so forth. The only one I can think of at the moment that is still ongoing (although talking about Brightest day now) Would be the Flash currently sitting at issue #008. As well as Green Arrow, currently on issue #009 (release date Friday the 11th )

On another note...
Been reading and actually quite enjoying The Li'l Depressed Boy. Pretty cute story!

Ok cool. Yeah just read vol 1 of brightest day, cant wait for vol 2! AWX get it ASAP please.

I was just watching the DC Origins story on DSTV, was very cool, I never knew any of that. Im not big into comics but im hooked with the green lantern story(blackest/brightest).

Also guys whats this new thing about Marvel, with FEAR??? Something like blackest night?

Just remembered my other question, is SPIDEY really a member of the fantastic four now and is the white uniform really true? Also anyone read those 3comics where Johnny died? Im waiting for AWX to get them.

Superman 900???

Hey I am new to the site, but I found a comic series that I read years ago!
The entire "Forever Maelstrom" series, 1 to 6
It is actualy realy quite funny with a super over the top story line, it is not such a bad read. Keep an eye out for it for any DC fans.

@Cloudis what channel was that show on? AS for Fear, it's another bloody line wide event, like Blackest Night etc. The main two publishers do it every year, seems like every month these days and I am tired of it. Can't we go back to self-contained story arcs within a family of books and have these mega crossovers as a rare thing that makes them special again. Sorry had to rant as this dense continuity makes it tough to collect books you just want and for newer readers to get into comics.

Yes Spidey is kinda sorta part of the FF, because Johnny is dead (for now) and the FF are reduced to 3 original members. Apparently the new book/team will consist of a new member taking Johnny's spot each story arc so for now it is SPidey. When they hit issue 500 later this year expect Johnny to come back and the status quo to be resumed.

@Knightfall while I love DKR, Strikes Again just wasn't that good IMO.

I agree, its like nobody can solve any problems on their own anymore and in DC you're guaranteed to see the justice league or specific members of in just about every title, so much so that its pointless having all these other titles when you could just have JLA instead. I know they inhabit the same universe, but your telling me there isnt enough crap going on to keep all these heroes busy. Its like Flash rocking up in Superman as a kind of, "Hey I was just bored and thought I'd drop by."

Crisis events, secret wars, none of them have any impact anymore, just like a superheroes "death".

Rant over.

Read Ghostbusters: Haunted Holidays.

Busy reading the Identity Crisis run. (7 issues in total).
Just began, first issue was quite moving if you are a DC fan (Justice Society, justice League, Titans, Outsiders or even Blue Beetle and Booster gold).
With quite a twist at the end, so far, it seems like a brilliant comic series to follow!

Finished reading Blackest Night.
Finished reading Batman:Hush - absolutely brilliant, highly recommended.

Started reading Batman: The doom that came to Gotham - its Batman meets Lovecraft. With Mike Mignola (B.P.R.D & Hellboy) on board, you know you're in for a treat.
