I completed skyrim ages ago but still play it now and then can't wait to get this patch hopefully it will fix some of the ps3 bugs as well

I was about half way through the story when the fps bug started gettign unbearable on my ps3. Was such a pitty as this game is awesome! I might try it again after this patch and see how it does now

PS3 is getting patch 1.7 and Xbox gets a new DLC called Hearthfire where you can build your own house

Bethedas agreement with Microsoft is to release all new content exclusively to Xbox for 30 days. Only after that time can it be release on PC and PS3.

Dawngaurd was released in June on Xbox and then on PC just over a month later. It's still not out on PS3 and the developers say its due to translating it to the PS3 system which they are finding difficult to do in comparison to PC.

I just feel like Betheda are selling out a little here. I get that this is just business but it does seem that they are less inclined to fixing bugs and providing new content to PS3 users. It really does seem like a slap in teh face that a new DLC for xbox is announced before the old one is even given a release date for PS3. I for one could have played Skyrim on xbox or PC but choose PS3 as I prefer the console (personaly prefernce) and don't want to feel forced to play the xbox version in order to play new content or have current bugs sorted.

The reason I never buy Bethedas stuff until the GOY editions are out, the wait sucks but at least it's sorted properly and all the dlc is there.

That house building dlc looks wicked though.

The only time I bought a third party title for the PS3 (not from the bargain bin) and ... thanks lady luck.

what makes the PS3 so difficult btw??

@paspalum - Most complaints seem to stem from the PS3 having a split RAM pool (2 X 256MB) instead of a consolidated 512MB for the Xbox360 (or a lot more on PC).

@Scottie - it was also the first time I played a Besthesda game on PS3 but after the initial updates (I only started playing in Jan/Feb) I honestly had min issues (certainly none of the crippling frame rate issues when it was first released) and that was 200 hours of playtime.

The DLC situation is a bit of a mess though and I wonder if they use the exclusivity period to program on only work on one console and then try port the code over later (in this case Xbox360 and then PS3)? What I can't understand though is surely all the updates to the PS3 version of the game would've gone into their compiler making this a none-issue for later development.

Apparently a premium edition (aka GOTYE) is incoming WITHOUT any DLC (not that matters for PS3ers). PS This is the German version.

A GotYE with no DLC’s … well that just stings – targeted right at our wallets . The tee and the OST do make this very attractive even without the DLC’s. Could be quite cool depending on the price

After reading up more on this it seems that this isn't really the GotYE but just another special edition. Maybe the GotYE will be released later with DLCs? Maybe they are jsut waiting to have all the DLC's out on all platforms first.

I think it's time for those of us with the PS3 version to accept there will be no DLC.

With regards to the Skyrim DLC:

From what I understand the Hearthfire and Dawnguard DLC's have not been released on PS3 because of development issues. While the DLC's were a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360, the PS3 has not received any of the additional DLC because Bethesda has run into major developmental issues with Sonys platform (something which they've battled with since The Elder Scrolls Oblivion). Its also the explanation they give as to why the PS3 version of their games is generally the worst (game-breaking bugs, visual glitches etc). Just to cover their bases Bethesda has announced that they are still trying their hardest to get it onto the platform but that it remains "unlikely"

As a Playstation owner this irks me no end but I've kind of made peace with it, and Skyrim is a phenomenal game no matter which platform you play on...

I want this DLC to have my man-babies...
