High - My industry is booming, with more people working from home the need to telecommunication is high and we are busy with getting 300 agents working from home via softphones and another 700 through the emailing system.

Low - It's lots of work that needs to be rushed and should have been done years ago when I brought it up but when you have old people in charge of changes like this they seem to want to fight everything about remote work.

Extra High - This virus will certainly push towards a remote work situation and hopefully make it more common place. I've been working from home for years to the point that people actually think I am in the office but I'm at home

So an update on my depressing note yesterday. Our alternative revenue stream is kicking in nicely. Keeps things ticking over, albeit only for half a day, and it isn't as high a margin as the business we have lost so far, but it's cause for cautious optimism.

We are still consulting about short timing and where to save costs, but if we can weather this storm we will be in such a great position.

Low - Was off sick the last 2 days with the flu. NOT the virus, don't panic lol
Still not well, but had no choice but to come in today. Half the staff put in "leave"

Low - Sick as well with a throat infection. Decided NOT to take chances with it and went to the doctor anyway. Decided to actually take the recommended five days off I was booked off, which I never do. Doctors aren't taking patients into waiting rooms anymore, had to wait in the car until it was my time to go in. Suffice to say, if you weren't taking this virus thing seriously before, have a bit of a chat with your GP and you'll see it's no laughing matter.
High - I always have so much to do at home, boredom is never an option. My biggest problem is really deciding what to do first. Think I need to make a schedule.

Government: Stay at home!
Me: Well now I don't want to!

At work today to sort out a few things, but feels sooo weird to just stay home. Need to set up a good schedule and get some stuff done.

Lowest of the low - We are scrambling at the moment to get all staff who are temporarily laid off during the shutdown sorted with UIF. The admin is a nightmare and noone can answer simple questions. The normal UIF procedure requires the applicant to get a UIF from stamped and signed by their bank to prevent fraud. Guess what noone has time anymore to get to the banks and stand in the insanely long queues to get this done and submitted.

The MoL was on 702 this morning and when this problem was put to him/her and what should people do, the answer was I don't know but here's an office number to call. But you can only call after 12pm.

People phoned in to ask when they can expect their payments. The answer "I don't know"

I understand that the government is scrambling as much as we are with this, it's an unusual situation and systems etc were never designed anywhere for this, but to have a minister simply answer "I don't know" is completely and utterly unacceptable.

I am so worried that staff etc are not going to have even the little that UIF is giving next month.

High: I have been gifted a brand new PC, as part of a new freelance job. It is so shiny and runs like a dream.

High: This job requires me to learn another entirely new skill set, so #personalgrowth

Low: My brain hurts from all the new information.

High: Had online sessions for both my current D&D games since the lockdown began. I guess lockdown means, people no longer have a million and one excuses for missing games. It is great be be able to get back into rolling some dice and crafting cool stories with friends.

High - Got the easter egg shopping done, will hide the eggs in the garden and have a hunt for my son, luckily the easter bunny is an essential service so he is allowed to deliver eggs.

Extra High - Might break 100k views on this vid

High - Easter egg hunt this morning with my son, always great to see a kid happy.

Extra high - Wife is making an awesome sunday roast late lunch. cannot wait to get stuck into that roast beef and roast potatoes, nom.

High/Low - Nobody can decide if cell phones are an essential service, so working off & on until a decision is made.

High: Well that's surprising, I have been contacted by two separate companies asking if I'm interested in joining them. I've said yes, because who knows what's going to happen going forward and the hit the business has taken has me seriously contemplating whether it can survive.
Low: that means going back into corporate which I really didn't want. Back to long hours and suits and stress like a mofo.

Blegh... My "Temporary" home office going to have to move to more permanent. We might not be going back to the office till July.
The first few weeks were a pleasant break from the norm, but it's starting to suck.
Need to make some changes to get things balanced again
