Pretty lame that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and 2 for that matter are just the switch games in a Switch 2 box with the upgrade pack. Would have been great if Nintendo released them as a proper Switch 2 release with the DLC in one complete package.
It’s been a year since No Man’s Sky first released, and it’s been an exciting, intense and emotional year for us at Hello Games. We have been quiet, but we have been listening intently.
We’ve spent that year working hard on free updates for this game our team cares about so much.
Update 1.3 will release this week and will be available for free to all No Man’s Sky players. We’re calling it Atlas Rises. It focuses on improving the central story of No Man’s Sky and adds the ability to quick travel between locations using portals. Patch notes will be made available shortly before the update goes live.
What we do is much more important than what we say, but since launch we have sometimes focused too much on that.
We wanted to reach out and celebrate the devoted community that means so much to us. We launched Waking Titan to try to do that.
When we posted those cassettes we didn’t know what to expect. In the last eight weeks a quarter of a million players from across the globe (174 countries, to be precise!) have come together – united by a shared love of mystery and science fiction – to form the Citizen Science Division. You’ve travelled great distances both real and virtual, undertaken complex tasks, and explored the depths of simulation theory. New friendships have been forged, and a tight-knit community has been created. Most importantly a cute hamster has a new home.
You’ve become part of the No Man’s Sky origin story.
It’s been an honour to watch, but this is just the beginning. Whether you’ve followed Waking Titan or not, we welcome anyone to sign up to the Citizen Science Division, and to join us on the official CSD forums.
Our journey continues.
Thank you for this year. We hope you enjoy what comes next.

Epic. Can't Wait! Just platinumed the game last week, I am glad to see the addition of story content the universe. Now to find an awesome Planet and start building a home base !bm
I downloaded the update last night (7.3GB on PS4, bigger than the base game at launch!). I started a new game and can already see so many awesome changes to the story and missions.
If you own this game, I highly recommend you update it and give it another go
I do have an issue with this update with what i have played so far and it's really detracting from the game for me.
When traveling toward a point of interest, the icon will randomly disappear as I get closer, and disappear completely once I get within 1 minute of the marker.
I spent 25 minutes flying across a planet towards markers only for them to incessantly disappear on me. Beyond this issue though, I am very happy with everything they have added.
With the New update around the corner (24th July) and the game getting closer to people's expectations of the launch product, I must say I'm keen to but this up again and explore the No man Sky universe again.
"Hello Everyone,
We are busily working on No Man’s Sky NEXT, but wanted to share a little news about our upcoming update.
Today we are letting people know that you’ll be able to play No Man’s Sky as a full multiplayer experience with your friends in NEXT. We wanted to share our new cover art too.
We are also announcing the release date. No Man’s Sky NEXT is coming as a free update to PC and PS4 on July 24th. Xbox One launches on July 24th.
We were delighted by the reaction to NEXT, even though we just shared the name so far, it means so much to see that people were already pumped about it. The reaction to coming to Xbox and weGame was really lovely too. I am excited for new players to be able to play such an expanded game from the start, as well as experienced players having a fresh experience.
We’ve been playtesting multiplayer for the last 6 months, and the game has evolved into a very new experience that we think the community will enjoy.
You’ll be able to explore the universe with a small group of friends, or bump into random travelers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Tiny shelters or complex colonies that you build as a team are shared for all players. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks and trails to share online.
That’s always been the potential I think everyone could see in what we were making, it’s been a lot of hard work, but thanks to the team and the community we are so glad to finally able to make it a reality.
Something I’ve learned is that I much prefer making games to talking about them. I avoid it as much as I can now, but I had to do my first interview in a couple of years with Inside Xbox to talk a little bit about NEXT, which you can see here:
This is an incredibly important update for us, but it’s also just another step in a longer journey, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.
This will be our biggest update yet and we’re pumped to be bringing Xbox players along on the journey with us now too. The Xbox One launch of No Man’s Sky will include all 4 major updates (Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises and NEXT), along with dozens of smaller patches. 505 Games will distribute the physical Xbox One version worldwide.
Totally agree with you Gr4nt. Looking forward to heading back into this game once this update drops I lost a couple of months to No Man Sky when it launched and have been playing it on and off since. Definitely looking forward to what awaiting in the update.
