Hey @Tea, any chance you can organise a copy of Silent Hill Origins for me? Doesn't matter which platform

@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

Ok...so I feel its very important to emphasise from the start how much I am loving this game - as is normal with any FROMOSOFTWARE game - however, I cannot seem to shake the idea that FROM tried to incorporate a Dark Souls game and a Blood Borne game when creating DS3, there are some positives, buy also a negatives about it imo.

I really do like that some areas always goes back to the same bonfire, I have always said the BB did a good job in this way and that DS should consider it in DS3. But the same "looking" areas and enemies are not my cup of tea, they should've stayed with the DS look, feel and enemy creation, I know some might see this as boring, but I'm sorry, if I wanted to play a BB2 game, I would buy it!

What I really do like about DS3, is that there's been more times of me seeing and feeling DS1 type of remembrance than any other FROM game, to me this is GREAT as DS1 is still the ultimate FROM game. DS3 has a great way of making me remember where it all started, it also brought back that nervousness that I experienced in DS1 and lost in DS2, it feels more focussed on killing the player rather than trying to impress with glorious looking areas, whilst bringing this up, DS3 probably feels like the least impressive visual game in the entire FROm range of games, ands once again, my opinion.

Last but not least, it almost feels like FROm went in the same direction as Lords of the Fallen, where getting to the boss is so much harder than the actual bosses. I have not yet finished the game in all honesty, but my lvl is 35 now, and the only boss I have yet to solo is the 1st "secret' boss, everything up to the Irithyl Dungeon has not taken me more than 5 attempts.

But as I sad, FROM made a pearler of a game AGAIN!!!! I cannot wait to finish it another 10 times

Sunlight Straight Sword, Anri is only good at a high soul level, this character is too low level for Anri to do any decent damage.

Yup comes from a mimic chest after the 2 dragons at one of the end levels.

Just use a hunters charm on the mimic.

Yeah been using the little I have. Kind of forgot about them in my inventory. Dammit! Dark Souls 3 is so much fun. BTW. Got the "True" ending.

OMG! Best come back of 2016 right there hahaha!!! Bet he's still scratching his head trying to figure that one out

As for DS3, iI'm nearing the end now I think, when Isit and look back at all the DS ggames I'm starting to think that this is the best DS game of them all. I was very undecided on this game in terms of enjoyment in the 1st 10 or so hours of playing, but the more I play the more I'm loving it.

PS: Big up to FROM, walking into Anor Londo and not expecting one of the most memorable areas in DS games to feature again gave me goose bumps, really great idea and it looked and felt just as good as the 1st time I saw Anor. Now to decide, do I go NG+, build a STR char from scratch or a scorcery char cfrom scratch, 1st world problems

Ok I feel like complaining about this seeing as no one has even mentioned it in this or any other forum. This is spoiler heavy so I am going to preface anything I say here with a warning:

SPOILERS:

In Dark Souls 1 you collect a ring early to mid game that states it will help you survive a fall into the abyss. Not knowing what or where exactly the Abyss is, you more than likely forgot about the ring until a point in the game when suddenly you had a staircase leading to nowhere. Use of logic was forced upon you and you had to put two and two together, realising you might in fact need the ring at this point.

In Bloodborne you are provided with "Pungent Blood Cocktails" with the item description stating that it could be used to distract enemies the fed on blood, immediately before you find the "Blood starved Beast". The logic is sound in both of these cases. You find an item and have to figure out why they were given to you at this specific point. When entering an area to be greeted with "Homeward bones" your senses pick up and you assume that this was placed here because the upcoming area might prove to be difficult and thus you have been provided with an out.

These examples and many more are instances of logic that, although sometimes lateral in their approach, are sound and worthy of praise.

And thus we come to the Yhorm the giant boss fight where I honestly feel that the logic is ass backwards. You enter a boss arena to be greeted by a boss (fair enough). Now you can hack away at this boss as per the norm but you will very quickly realise that you are fighting an uphill battle, as the boss takes very little damage from you, regardless of stats and buffs. You will likely die and try again.

Now there is an item within the boss arena (this is not unheard of as there sometimes random items strewn about, but they are usually of little immediate assistance). But no, this particular item, situated at the very back of the arena is imperative to your current fight. It is a weapon. Okay great. So you might find the weapon, but equipping it mid-fight is nigh on impossible at this point as your inventory is overflowing with weaponry. So you might, more than likely, die again.

So you stop and read the item description and it tells you that using the charged form of the weapon does massive damage to giants. So you hit L2 and you do a few swipes and see that, wherever you are testing this, this weapon works exactly the same as every other weapon, just that the charged form is specifically suited to giants. Except it's not like every other weapon. So you go in to give Yhorm a thumping only to realise that the charged form is doing as much damage as the regular version and you end up dying again.

Much testing (or more than likely, a quick google) later you realise that unlike most weapons in the game, this weapon specifically has to be charged up for 4 seconds before it is useful. Almost completely against everything the game has been teaching and preparing you for up to this point.

Now my main problem with this is that, for the most part, the Souls games are fair. You might die but you can usually put your death down to impatience or skills or even inexperience. This is the first fight I have encountered that I can safely say was completely unfair in it's approach.

END SPOILERS

As I say I have not seen anyone mention this anywhere else as the solution is always "google it". I have seen only one person on Youtube admit to having had to delete hours of footage because they could not figure the boss fight out. Everyone else's commentary is based on prior knowledge of the fight.

Any thoughts?

"This is the first fight I have encountered that I can safely say was completely unfair in it's approach."

Have you forgotten about Bed of Chaos? Even Seath had a stupid unfair approach. It's not new to souls games.

While I do understand what you are saying I think it's more the minority viewpoint and probably why it isn't brought up much.

For one each of your points can be countered. As soon as you enter that room you can immediately see the shiny object, in all the souls games these are used in many situations to point us to new paths, give us hints etc the same can be said here. So it is safe to assume that the player would think about why an item is there, pick up said item and warp/quit out the game. Quitting will put you right outside the fog gate, warping will put you back at the bonfire and it's an easy run back to the boss. I do think it is silly to do something like this however I never have an issue with equipping new stuff during gameplay as I do lots of inventory management. If I never use the item, weapon etc then I don't need it in my inventory and it can go to the bottomless box you have from the start of the game. Then again as we know with any souls game quitting the game in a boss fight puts you back outside the boss room.

That said the first time I fought this boss I ignored the item and beat him without it, and know some others that did the same, the 2nd time I had an NPC that destroyed the boss for me, the 3rd time I tried the item and won as well even after trying to figure out how to use the weapon arts the fight was extremely trivial with the weapon so I can understand why the approach was made. The fight can be fought in many different ways.

There is another boss in the game that I think has an even dumber approach, this was also a boss that I fought 1 on 1 and after the fight just thought there must be something else to this, when I looked it up and saw what you were suppose to do all I could think was how is the player suppose to figure that out.
