Just spent the last 3 hours playing and soaking up everything about this game. So far from what I have experienced this is absolutely incredible, it feels so polished and responsive. The game looks and runs perfectly, it's really impressive seeing Dark Souls look this good, armor shines, dust particles fill the air when you smash crates and other breakable objects and the music is just incredible, what a score, from the opening title screen music you can tell straight away you are in for an amazing ride.
Anyway from what I have played this has zero similarities to Bloodborne, so again I have no idea why the comparison is coming up, this actually feels like Demon Souls 2. The game is so responsive it's actually kind of jarring, it takes every button press you do and actions it, so if you spam Estus flasks trying to heal don't be surprised if your character all of a sudden chugs another one. Demon Souls while not my favorite of the games always felt like the most polished title in terms of controls and responsiveness so this definitely feels like a Demons souls sequel, it feels like it has that exclusive polish. Combat feels exactly like it does in the previous Souls games, R1 is light attack, R2 is heavy attack, Triangle holds the weapon 2 handed, L1 is to block, Circle to dodge and run, X to action, use items or pick up an item and Square to use the selected item. R2 is different though, depending on the shield you have this is either a parry or a sort of power stance that will make the character 2 hand your weapon for a more powerful strike, it looks quite awesome but takes some time to get use to.
Estus is back in the game and a new Estus has been introduced, Ash Estus, not sure what this is for but I think it replenishes your magic bar. I played as a Knight, there were 4 classes to pick so i assume one of them is a magic class but only [censored] pick magic in a Souls game

so never got to see this. Embers not replace humanity, when you are not human it looks like you have about 60-70% health when you use an ember to go human you get a bigger health bar. A cool aspect to this is your character starts to have embers fall off him as is if he is on fire, it's very subtle but easily recognizable and adds a nice little touch to the design.
The boss design who is called Dancer of the Frigid Valley is amazing, from the sound of the footsteps and breath to the design and music, everything was pretty much perfect, it was a rather easy fight however, I managed to defeat her on the first go but it left a big impression and was just awesome to watch. Some great lore comes in when you defeat the boss as well, the text Heir of Fire Destroyed comes up and I instantly started saying whaaaaat!!! Another Demons souls return is red eye/Blue eye knights, they are still tough and can easily kill you if you underestimate them. There was another special enemy I found later into the beta, who used a frost type weapon, this enemy was far more difficult than the boss and I died on my first encounter with it, also it inflicts a frostbite status, not sure what this did but I suspect we are going to get more elemental type weapons.
I really enjoyed this and will going back to the world tomorrow night for some invasions. Sadly the screenshot function was disabled but I took a few pics with my phone, same armor from Demons Souls if I am not mistaken and what looks like the Lord Vessel:
