South African Actors to Appear on The Flash Season 4
We all know that Danny Trejo will be making a turn as Breacher, a bounty hunter from Earth-19. This news broke during the show's SDCC panel this past weekend.
For South Africans however, it may be even more newsworthy to confirm that Neil Sandilands and Kim Engelbrecht have also been cast in key roles in season 4.
Neil Sandilands has been cast as the season's central villain, The Thinker (aka Clifford Devoe), with Kim Engelbrecht also making a villanous turn as The Mechanic, a character in league with The Thinker.
Sandilands has starred in quite a few prominent series of late, including The 100, The Americans as well as South African drama, 7de Laan, as well as other independent Afrikaans projects.
Engelbrecht will forever be remembered (by me, anyway) for her bubbly, earnest portrayal of firebrand reporter, Lolly van Onselen, in prominent South African drama, Isidingo. More recently, she did also have a starring role is SyFy's short-lived, apocalyptic series, Dominion.
It's great to see local talent making these strides internationally, and I'm looking forward to seeing these home-brewed thespians tangle with Team Flash.
