Hey everybody

Happy November

Do we perhaps have an ETA on The Outer Worlds 2 - Premium and Tales of Xilia?

Just recently finished Dying Light The Beast, absolutely fantastic and I would recommend it for a zombie parkour game, looking forward to future entries if there are

Review: ASUS ROG Pelta

Versatile, lightweight, and built to last (just not for bassheads).

by Community Guest Writer on 07 October, 2025

As a multi-platform gamer and content creator, I’m always on the lookout for a headset that ticks all the right boxes: seamless connectivity, great mic, solid sound, and battery life that won’t have me tethered to a wall every other day. Enter the ASUS ROG Pelta — a lightweight wireless gaming headset that aims to offer flexibility across your devices without skimping on features.

After several weeks of using the ASUS ROG Pelta across both PlayStation 5 and PC, plus some bonus time with my iPhone, here’s how it stacks up in real-world use.

Battery Life - The Star of the Show

Let’s not bury the lede: the battery life is insanely good - I barely had to think about charging. Even with regular use and occasional RGB lighting on, the ROG Pelta held strong for days. Turn the RGB off and the endurance becomes even more impressive.

No exaggeration - this is one of the best battery performances I’ve experienced in a gaming headset.

Seamless Connectivity That Just Works

Switching between devices is as easy as a flick on the headset. Using the 2.4 GHz ROG SpeedNova dongle on Playstation 5 and Bluetooth on PC and mobile for editing and meetings took literal seconds. It made content capture and workflow smooth and frustration-free.

As an iPhone user, fast pairing and consistent connection is often where headsets fumble, but not here. Whether I was jumping into a Teams meeting, watching anime, or playing Call of Duty Mobile, the ASUS ROG Pelta held its own with good audio quality and zero fuss.

Mic & Voice Chat - Clear and Clever

The detachable boom mic on the ROG Pelta is surprisingly effective. You can position it away from your mouth without losing voice clarity, which is a blessing during long streams or editing sessions.

That said, during voice-overs and noisier environments, I noticed the mic picking up some background noise. It wasn’t overwhelming, but if you’re working in shared spaces or aiming for clean recordings, it might be a small drawback.

Sound Quality - Great for Gaming, Weaker for Music

Out of the box, the ROG Pelta’s sound leans toward the mids and highs, which is great for gaming - footsteps, gunfire, and voice cues come through cleanly. But if you’re into music or immersive horror gaming, you’ll notice one thing missing: bass.

Even after adjusting the EQ via ASUS Armoury Crate, the low end felt a little underwhelming. For general gaming, it’s more than fine. But audiophiles and bass-lovers might be left wanting.

Comfort vs Fit - Light as a Feather, but...

The lightweight design means you can wear the ROG Pelta for hours without strain. In fact, I often forgot I had it on - which led to a few almost-catastrophic moments walking away from my desk mid-recording. Thank goodness it’s wireless.

However, comfort isn’t without compromise.

The headband is a sticking point for me. There’s minimal adjustability, and I personally don’t like the tension-style bands. They put pressure on the top of the head, and from an aesthetic standpoint, I’m just not a fan of the visible gap between the band and the headset.

Noise Isolation Could Be Better

The mesh fabric earcups are breathable and soft, but they don’t offer much in the way of passive noise isolation. If you're in a noisy environment or trying to focus while editing, outside sound leaks in easily. There’s also no active noise cancellation, so if that’s a dealbreaker for you, take note.

RGB & Armoury Crate - Fun but Battery Hungry

Customising the headset’s lighting through ASUS Armoury Crate is cool, especially for those who like matching RGB setups and Aura Sync. But after the novelty wore off, I ended up leaving the lights static or turning them off entirely in favour of better battery life.

The software also lets you tweak EQ and mic settings, but it’s not essential unless you're trying to squeeze the most out of the sound profile. Admittedly though, I did love the ability to adjust my virtual surround sound to make footsteps more directional on FPS games.

Final Verdict

The ASUS ROG Pelta is a strong all-rounder with a killer feature set for multi-platform gamers and creators. The long battery life, smooth device switching, and solid mic make it an excellent tool for anyone bouncing between gaming, meetings, and media.

It’s not perfect - bass is lacking, noise isolation is mid, and headband design may not be for everyone. But if you value versatility, comfort, and battery over brawn, the ASUS ROG Pelta is absolutely worth considering.
