Horizon Zero Dawn Sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, Announced for PS5
During last night's PlayStation 5 reveal event, as many may have predicted, Horizon Zero Dawn's long-rumoured sequel was finally announced, with the title Horizon Forbidden West. Guerrilla Games' highly anticipated sequel will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 5 at a release date yet to be announced, though we can probably expect it to launch either this holiday 2020 or sometime in 2021.

Horizon Forbidden West will once again see the return of the first game's main protagonist, Aloy, this time exploring a different part of the world. As civilization crumbled and a strange mechanical post-apocalypse continues to loom, Aloy journeys to new exotic locations, some locales include underwater ruins and buildings and striking tropical vistas. There's a lot to admire from a purely visual perspective here, as it's one of the most stunning games we've ever seen. We're patiently waiting for gameplay, which should arrive sometime before the end of the year or the next rumoured PlayStation event in August.
Horizon Forbidden West marks the second game in Guerrilla Games' Horizon series (which may as well head for a trilogy). The game was one of the few heavy-hitting PlayStation exclusives to be announced at the event, others of which include Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, and Project Athia from Square Enix - which many initially confused for a new Final Fantasy game, when in fact it's a new major title from Luminous Productions. Out of the lot, Horizon holds a special place in many gamer's hearts, and it will be great to finally see gameplay.
Horizon Forbidden West is currently in development for PS5.
