Dune: Part Three - Official Trailer
The latest trailer for Dune: Part Three is here and it’s preparing audiences for an epic conclusion as Paul Atreides ascends to the throne. Director Denis Villeneuve will return to direct the final part in the trilogy with new stars including Robert Pattinson and the return of Jason Momoa.
Dune: Part Three picks up after the thrilling conclusion of Dune: Part Two which released in 2024 to critical acclaim. After launching an attack against the Emperor on Arrakis, Paul Atreides takes his fight to the colonies at large, seeking liberation for the Fremens and the swift executions of the oppressors. It sets a pretty bleak tone but also sends a message that audiences might have to wrestle with: whether Paul’s actions and decisions are ultimately justified or not.
Returning cast members include Timothee Chalamet in the leading role as Paul, Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, and Pattinson who joins the cast as Scytale.
Speaking on the message of the movie, Chalamet revealed, “Frank Herbert wrote Messiah as he wanted to warn the world what can happen when people blindly follow leaders. Even the good can be corrupted.” This suggests we’ll follow Paul’s ascension as a leader, though it will come with consequences and possibly his eventual corruption.
The story description for Dune: Part Three reads:
“Emperor Paul Atreides faces the fallout from his ascent to power as political plots and a galaxy-wide holy war endanger the future only he can see.”
Dune: Part Three arrives in cinemas on 18 December 2026. Watch the trailer below:
