@vector I agree- You know which deluxe edition pleasently surprised me recently ....STAR WARS: Galactic Racer Deluxe Edition

Epic steelbook and packaging for the price!

@phreak yeah man, gosh. The Big 3 prime were peak anime days and each anime had incredible arcs. I still remember when Naruto transitioned into Shippuden, I was hype for weeks lol Simpler times hey

@Vector

It's one of my most hated things when companies/publishers decide to make their collector's editions exclusive to their own personal web stores. The CE for Ace Combat 8 Wings of Theve is something I would have instantly bought if it was available locally or through normal channels.

Square Enix is also notorious for doing this with their games and it will never not tick me off

I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed with Ace Combat having such a lousy "Deluxe" edition. Basically just a different cover art and some trivial digital stuff. Same case, nothing special inside.

I know there's a steelbook announced somewhere, but I'm guessing not here. Not a criticism of Nexus Hub of course.

Really sad to see the Bleach anime end, but Kubo and Pierrot did an amazing job with the TYBW. The anime ending is also a massive step-up from the manga. Will forever be one of my fav shows.

Hey guys - We have listed the AOT 3 steelbook for PS5 - Just checking if there is interest in the Nintendo Switch 2 version?

But yeah...Bleach is my all time fav series. I knew the end was coming, but still. Seriously sad

@UmarB: Remember the prime of the Big 3?
Where we would weekly get new eps and manga chapters of Bleach, Naruto and One Piece?
Miss those days.

@UmarB: Good memories!

@eYss: if you want to watch it in SA, it's on disney+

Gotham Knights
Game gets a lot of flak, but I enjoyed it.
Yes its nowhere near as good as the previous Batman games.
But the story was interesting. & getting to play as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Redhood was cool.
The combat was okay, not a fan of the crafting system.
The map was great, Gotham looked fantastic! But the bikes were a bit lame, spent most of the time grappling around.
Side quests were not bad, just repetitive.
Game has its flaws, but it was fun.

007 First Light: The game was good, lots of pacing issues, at times a little boring, but when the action hits it hits hard and I really enjoyed it.

Great story!

Mad Max
Even better the second time around!
They nailed the whole game!
Forgot how much there is to do, just the races I'm not a fan of.

My major problem with this game is that you need to push to Gas Town to really get the narrative moving and more resources for vehicle upgrades. If you’re a methodical map clearer, you can annihilate the pacing in the first half and then suddenly have the game rush to a conclusion.

Great environments, atmosphere, and car combat though.

Yea, I clear the map before moving on. So that happens every time I play it.

DmC Devil May Cry Definitive Edition
Finished this 3 times on PS3, & now twice on PS4.
The levels & boss fights are great, & the combat is excellent!
The rebooted characters, not so much. But its still an awesome game to play!
Vergils Downfall could have been better. Vergils move list is good at least.

Mafia 3
Replay before Mafia Old Country.
Still a great game. Great voice acting & story.
Just not the best looking game, can look quite fugly at times.
Went with a different ending this time, Lincoln stays & rules alone.
I split the districts equally again. Only when I was done with the game, did I realize I should have given all districts to one person. To see a different out come for them.
Donovan still the man!

Silent Hill 2
16hours on normal, with the Leave ending.
Never played any Silent Hill game before, including the original PS1 SH2. So can't compare.
VERY slow burn, but ends up getting pretty good.
LOTS of puzzles, good amount of combat but very easy.
Game looks great on PS5. But I had to make it brighter when I got to the Labyrinth. Can't see $hit!!

Alien Rogue Incursion Evolved (Non-VR) Edition

If you can snag it on sale and are desperately craving a half-baked action/survival-horror with Alien Isolation aesthetics, it can offer 6-8 hours of mildly tense shooting and key hunts.

It nails the visuals, audio, and atmosphere, but the story is a cliffhanger unlikely to be resolved (they rebranded it as "Part 1"), the shooting lacks impact, and the Aliens rarely feel as deadly as they should. You can be hit 3 times before a death animation plays out; xenomorphs come in groups of 2-4 and tend to line up to be shot if you back into a corner; and shooting them with the iconic Pulse Rifle is so unsatisfying when they take so many rounds to just crumple to the ground awkwardly and dissolve away.

No doubt playing it in VR would be way more immersive but even then the shooting and xeno AI would remain a problem.

Mafia Old Country
This is a linear story driven game, not open world like Mafia 3.
Theres no side quests, no extra horse/car races outside the story.
The collectable are very uninteresting, & a chore to find.
The map is just there for the story, & it looks fantastic! So much detail!!
Story & voice acting are good. This is a prequel to the first game.
Combat & stealth is very average.
Not the longest game, but I enjoyed it.

Cyberpunk 2077

After all the patches and Phantom Liberty expansions, it's almost on par with The Witcher III for me know. Great Deus Ex-ish RPG with a fantastic setting, characters, performances, character builds, and unique quests. Just wish they had maybe front-loaded it with a few optional gigs while V is a mercenary on the rise, then focused more on the all the core and companion quests from Act 2 onwards. So much mediocre busywork vying for attention when there's like 50+ hours of great content that needs experiencing.

Also netrunning is the new Oblivion/Skyrim Stealth Archer paradox. So good to the point I had to force myself to use other skills and weapons.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Went back to complete the expansion fully, trying out some different outcomes, a more aggressive tech-weapon build, and setting up an alternate ending for V.

This is a weird one for me as the expansion missions are excellent and fleshed out, but feel more like a linear, set-piece heavy, action-shooter campaign strung together by the Cyberpunk 2077 framework. For half of them, you're rewarded for different strategies and builds; for the other half, you play exactly the way the dev intended or the mission triggers the most negative outcome or even fail states.

It's always risky to take away choice in an RPG and more so to include so many set-pieces in which manual saves are disabled and checkpoints frugal. The sniper perch section felt like trail-and-error in the worst possible way and the stalker robot in the Somewhat Damaged mission turned horror into tedium quickly.

Overall a great expansion - if not quite at the Blood & Wine level - but I still wish they'd gone with one that expands the first act and sets up V's career earlier. The second act is already so bloated with investigation paths, companion quests, and side job chains that it's hard to remember V's life is on a timer.

Control - Completed the main story. Now to wrap up the side missions, play Alan Wake 1 and then come back to the DLC

MOUSE P.I. For Hire
Great game!
Maybe an hour or 2 too long, finished at 15hours.
FPS done in the Steamboat Willie black & white animation style.
You are a mouse detective in the 1930s.
Great voice acting, although they can waffle on a bit at times.
Game is linear, but there are a bunch of collectables to find. & even a few side quests to do, fetch quests mainly.
A nice selection of fun guns to use.

Marvels Wolverine
About 15hours
Fun game, I enjoyed it.
Looks great, & no load times.
Easy platinum.
Not the biggest fan of the new origin story they did for Wolverine & Jean.
The setup for the next game looks good though.

The Sinking City 2

Very much a Frogwares homage to Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake but satisfyingly so. Familiar gameplay in a less familiar Lovecraftian setting, with a charming cast, decent puzzles, and strong atmosphere. Also damn well priced for a compact (12-hour-ish) and well-polished experience.

If you get the Deluxe edition, it also comes with a separate DLC called the Holloway Manor that is an equally impressive 2-ish hour mini-adventure that uses haunted house themes to great effect.

Cronos: The New Dawn

The time-travelling narrative, oppressive atmosphere, detailed environments, and challenging resource-constrained survival-horror combat are individually excellent. However, the bloated 20-hour casual playtime manages to consume your time while actually making the overall experience worse as the limited enemy types and repeating encounter designs just become more apparent.

Just like the Silent Hill 2 remake (in which you could at least argue the gruelling journey was thematically and symbolically important),, it feels like Bloober Team need to stop wasting time and money being longer than they needed to be.
