The amount of backwards compatible games will probably sway me. 3DS? Wii-U?

From the rumors apparently, no backwards...

This kinda makes sense since we saw a cartridge slot but no disc drive so that completely rules out Wii/Wii U support in the Switch

But here's hoping there is DS/3DS support

No BC is such a stupid decision I can't even believe Nintendo would think of leaving it out. Their user base on Wii U has lost so much faith in them that no BC would be the last hit on the nail.

I would be extremely surprised if that base doesn't have a cd drive for Wii and Wii U discs.

or just digital downloads of their wii/wii-u library...

So make already pissed off Wii U owners even more pissed off by making them purchase games they already own? Don't think Nintendo are that dumb to do that in the position they in. Don't think they want the backlash of negativity that would bring around.

It would be disappointing if it didn't have backwards compatibility.


A while ago i had a dream of then Switch (while it was still NX) where it was backwards compatible with Wii and Wii U games using the disc drive on the main console itself.

And 3DS and DS games using a cartridge slot on the controller which was similar to the Wii U controller (or exactly what it ended up looking like)

It was just a dream but that would've made for the console with the biggest library in existence

I have the same idea. Maybe the main console would have a Drive or something or else, like all companies, an additional thing that will change the way it works.

I have to say, I am thinking about this system... I think I need it! Sell my WiiU and get this guy...

Might be difficult for them to implement Wii U BC since it would most likely require owning a Game Pad and since it is not able to be purchased seperately (outside of Japan) that would mean you have to sell the most expensive part of the Wii U seperately with enough people to buy it which probably isn't many

The switch mite have backwards compatibility with digital titles via the e-shop just hope the prices on e-shop is better than they were on the wiiu.

Don't believe any leaked specs until it's officially revealed, which will most likely be early next year. There will be sites or elitist neogaffers looking for attention in the meantime

Also maybe take the 3rd party games shown with a pinch of salt. Seems both 2K and Bethesda have not confirmed Skyrim and NBA2k17 ports for the Switch. I am sure that they will be on the system, but possibly not at launch

Well Nintendo already confirmed that the dock is merely for charging and TV out.
A new famitsu interview confirms no WiiU BC (made sense) and no 3DS BC (which makes less sense)

Interesting point. Just made me realise that the whole wiiu functionality is thrown out the window considering the device needs to be docked to video out.
Oh well... wasnt a well used feature by Nintendo at all so maybe a good thing.

eh, just Nintendo putting an NDA on when games can be formally announced. They themselves havent even made mention of Mario, MK or Splatoon.

According to a source for Laura Dale, the NX battery 3 hours max

the 3 hour battery life is a bit of a let down tbh i was hoping around the 6 hour mark hopefully we get a power bank or some sort of device to extend the battery life as for the no backwards compatibility for physical media thats no big deal but hopefully some games do get made available digitaly also it doesn't look if previous gen accessories will be compatible with the switch personally im still keen to get myself the switch as it sounds like a pretty cool device and the leaked specs ill take with a pinch of salt will wait for nintendo to reveal more info.

I only get an hour lunch at work. So it's fine with me. And i'll mostly play on my TV. But in all honesty 3 hours battery life isn't that great especially for people that are on the go the whole time. Let hope they announce BAYONETTA 3 For the switch !love !love !love !love !love
