And I forgot to mention 10th edition has already been released.
The rule changes have had a mixed reaction by the community
9th - Space Marines vs Necrons
10th - Space Marines vs Tyranids
I still have this strange feeling GW has a Slight bias towards Space Marines.
Honestly though unless you love Tyranids(I do) I don't really think it would have been worth. Same Space Marine just different weapons or updated sculpt. While Tyranids have updated sculpts and also a couple new units with more still incoming.

Yeah they are slightly OP considering last time I checked the 10th edition rules units with AP are in short supply, thankfully the models are still only available in a limited edition box.
That just like the Dark Angels box set was
scalped to kingdom come making the units a rarity and Lion's stand alone release was postponed(causing GW some grief with a large amount of people) in all likelihood to focus on Leviathan print.
note:don't actually play the game but looked up some stuff out of curiosity.
