@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.
DarkwingDuck

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

So we've had a busy year with games, disappointments, bad framerate, games not looking as promised, bugs, DLC, forced online, games not working on launch and the list goes on. And there has been a lot of releases this year. But regardless of it. Which games so far this year have you had the most fun with.

Here is my list

Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta 2

Sunset Overdrive (Just plain amazing fun and looks great)
Transistor (One of my all time favourite games.)
Forza Horizon 2 (What can I say. Looks great, plays great. And the online worked
from launch. And no weather patch needed)
Diablo 3 RoS (DarkPrince and Crav made the experience amazing with me)
Killer Instinct (A..a..a.a..Amazing)
Fantasy Life
Danganronpa (It's great)

There are a lot of games I've enjoyed this year. But these above are my stand out experiences this year so far.

Let me know your experiences. And DriveClub is not allowed to be mentioned in a positive way.

I must say I haven't had any issue with bad frame rates, forced online or games not looking as promised but then again I also don't get coned by the hype people try to put out on games so I stay away from those yearly released over bloated series.

I have tried to limit my gaming purchases so that I can enjoy the games I do buy instead of playing them for a day or tow and never going back to them and because of that I have had a great year of gaming, my only real disappointment this year was InFamous Second Son, I bought the PS4 for that game and instead I got a boring watered down average game.

However for games I enjoyed and played the most, Diablo 3 RoS easily takes that place, the amount of content this game keeps giving is astounding, I've been playing for days and days and still every time I play something new happens and it's due to this that I keep coming back, plus the online co-op is so flawless and simple that it's hard to put down.

I put a fair amount of hours into Destiny as well, while I still maintain that this is a very average game, it's online co-op and loot system kept me playing for about 100 hours. Sadly they went and stuffed this up with crappy content and so I'll probably never go back to it but while I did play it I enjoyed it quite a bit. Even average games can be very fun.

Then the reason I purchased my Wii U came out, Bayonetta, easily my Game of the Year, nothing released comes close to the style, gameplay and overall quality of this game, it's pretty much a perfect game in my eyes.

Finally I got my chance to play Killer Instinct after getting an X1, and now with Season 2 in full swing and a new character coming very soon I can't wait to dig in further with this incredible fighting game.

It's cause you buy too much crap that it overshadows the really good games

just remember theres a very big difference between a good game and a fun game

as for me:

Smash bros - duh

SF4 & BBCP - for some weird reason a lot people actually started playing these games this year and having regular meetups so i actually got in ALOT of playtime. playing with other people is always fun. omf i actually have to practice to win now

Drakengard 3 - yea strange pick i know, technically not the the best of games but i'd be lying if i said i didn't have a crapload of fun playing this.

i know pokemon ORAS is definitely going on this list as well

special mentions to bayo 2,great game, just not sure if "fun" is the right word for it.

Can't wait for my ORAS myself. So that will be another great experience. I did enjoy Drakengard 3 a lot. But not the most fun I've had. But did enjoy it regardless

And yes. Fun isn't the right word for Bayonetta 2. Because it goes far beyond that in my opinion. Everything Bayo2 did was perfect. Probably one of my greatest experiences this year.

Game I have enjoyed the most, and am still playing is Destiny.
Resogun is a easy second, with FFX/X2 remastered coming in third.
Forth is The Last Of Us for the PS4.

Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor.
Really enjoyed this, even if it was quite easy!

Infamous Second Son.
Great looking game, gameplay is a bit meh! But still enjoyed it!

Infamous First Light.
In the process of finishing it!
Would I be wrong in saying, it might be better then Second Son?

@IkariX - It's definitely been a year that show's gaming without online connectivity is fast becoming impossible. I appreciate tons of game are now being designed around a connected component but the fact so many single player games have been released half-broken is unforgivable.

- Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2: The game was a bit of a step back from LoS 1 in sotry and presentation but I still enjoyed the more open-world mechanics and the combat system and platforming were still excellent.

- Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls: Such a great console conversion and the new class and content expanded on an already awesome game. Most importantly it's led to a resurgence of couch co-op sessions with my mates.

- Infamous - Second Sun: A game I appreciate for taking the less-is-more approach. Not only was the game stunning, but everything about it felt much more lighthearted and streamlined compared the previous games which became a slog by the end. Story-missions were well designed and side-activities were fun but over quickly so they didn't ruin the pace of the game. I also really enjoyed Deslin as a character as his story progression (specifically on the "good" playthrough).

- Wolfenstein The New Order: A combination of id Software's excellent 60FPS shooting combined with a surprisingly well-paced and thoughtful story.

- Watch Dogs: A game bogged down by Ubisoft's need to bloat everything, but the ability to play through the campaign as a (mostly) non-lethal stealth game using the hacking skills really made the gameplay memorable for me, even if the characters and plot were bland.

- The Last of Us Remastered: Difficult game to classify as "fun" but still an incredible experience, even the 2nd time over. The "Left Behind" DLC is also some of the best DLC content you'll experience.

- Metro Redux: A really high-value collection of two excellent games, the first of which is much improved. Coming from a Ukranian developer, both game have a distinct rough feel, compared to many AAA FPS titles, which fits the setting and gameplay. Both games have lengthy, atmospheric SP campaigns that are up their with Half Life and Bioshock.

- Alien Isolation: Another game that's hard to describe as "fun" but it is an incredibly tense stealth-game that finally captures the feel of the Alien universe in which humans are prey to a terrifying, unstoppable xenomorph. Visuals, sound, atmosphere and gameplay come together to create my favourite game for the year so far.

- The Legend of Grimrock 2: A great RPG with classic, yet simple, mechanics emulating the old grid-based dungeon trawlers. It's still got plenty of depth for characters customization, great environments and puzzles to navigate, excellent loot to collect and spectacular visuals and audio.

Hard to say since it's not often that I'm buying games lately, so 90% of the time what I'll be playing that I bought and end up having fun with it.

As for the most fun though I'd have to say D3: RoS (PC). The expansion really made me hit it again in a big way, taking me back to late nights playing D2.

Second best is DOTA2, despite it happening less frequently, LAN days are always fun, and the best respite from adult life.

Notable mentions go to Shovel Knight for being the best 2D 'old school' game this year for me, Binding of Isaac (before Rebirth) for being the 2nd highest clocked game on my Steam profile, and The Stanley Parable for the most bizarre but memorable experience in recent memory.

Dude I can't even remember how long I've been playing the game for (started with the original, then played HoN as the closest clone, then straight into Dota2) and I still suck .

Max Payne 3: Finally got it, and loved it...Rockstar's writing for this game was impeccable

One Piece Pirate Warriors 1 and 2: Was never really into One Piece, but LOVE warriors titles...two of the best Warriors title I've played...and I'm officially a One Piece fanboy now

]Resident Evil 6: Honestly, it not bad...its leagues better than Resi 5 (Still a 7/10 game though) and had fun with it, especially with friends...and a good game for me is a game that you enjoy, no matter what reason. It may not be *cough* *cough* Genre Defining (Sorry, I recently caught a case of "Buzzworditis) like Resi 4, but still very fun
