Hey @Tea, any chance you can organise a copy of Silent Hill Origins for me? Doesn't matter which platform

@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

Doesn't look like The Revolution is following on after the first game?
Looks to be a reboot.

Interesting.

Homefront: The Revolution’s Expansion Pass to include single-player campaign DLC

The first single-player DLC release will be the Voice of Freedom and Aftermath. Each will add new districts and “several hours of original content” which adds to the 30-hour campaign. Both are slated for release this year.

A larger expansion, Beyond the Walls, will follow in 2017

So I had about a hour hands on with Homefront: The Revolution and my initial impression is this; another great game / concept where the studio really just didn't have the resources to create what they had intended but still managed to pull of a decent guerrilla warfare experience, packed with novel gameplay ideas, exploration and gadgets.

My biggest gripe is the frame rate. The Crytek Engine pumps out some impressive visuals but the experience is marred by a juddering frame rate. However, there is 3gb day one patch I have yet to install that I'm sure addresses this concern and I will report back once installed.

Overall, I'm excited to get into the game once I complete DOOM. (and play/ find the Timesplitters 2 levels hidden in the game) !bm

I have some serious concerns regarding Deep Silver and much silver they have and/or how deep are their pockets.

@ Scottie - yeah, have had the same concerns especially after what happened around Dead Island 2 / Yager.

Let see what happens with Darksiders 3...

Unfortunately it does show in the game. Having played a bit, Tea is right, it feels like they have some grand plans but the execution feels rushed. The map is truly massive, with tons of different zones to claim and multiple objectives in each. It also looks spectacular in many places (especially at night). However, it's technically very rough and the shooting feels both inaccurate and isn't helped by the current framerate issues. I think it'll be worth looking into in a week or two after they've patched the hell out of it.

Played a bit with the Day 1 patch and there are noticeable improvements on the gameplay mechanics and visuals, most noticeably, the frame rate.

It also seems that obvious checkpoint/freeze save time as been reduced to just over a second and is far less impactive on the gaming experience

I'm actually now quite invested in the game and might just be putting DOOM on the back burner while I play this

Last night saw me completing a few APEX Commander bounty hunts and the start of an uprising in one of the oppressed territories. It's great seeing the shift in morale and having the local populace feel brave enough to take out the APEX soldiers themselves !bm

Last night, Lurch and I were fortunate enough to attend the Homefront: The Revolution press and launch event.

We got a hands-on with the game on both PS4 and Xbox One. Both systems were running the game pre-patch, so we got to experience the gameplay that many have been talking about. Some performance regarding frame-rate was quite spotty on PS4, less so on Xbox One. Both systems had an issue with the auto-save feature.

Having also had time with the game post-patch on PS4, many things have been ironed out well. Auto-save pauses are still present, but they're not as long, nor as jarring as before, coming in at just about a second now. When you get the game, download and install this day one patch, it's highly recommended for better performance.

Otherwise, the game felt good and challenging as a shooter. Those in the room might be involved with reviewing games, but that doesn't mean they're any good at them. We all took turns dying repetitively, to everyone's enjoyment.

It would be a shame for such a charming game to be marred by bad press, especially given its difficult development history (at no fault of its own). It's a fairly pretty game, thanks to the CryEngine, and you could compare it to an urban Far Cry in terms of feel. Don't make too many comparisons, however, since this game focuses heavily on hit-and-run guerilla warfare, and taking on groups of enemies in the open is certain death. Many things have been smoothed out post-patch, and it definitely comes recommended for the gameplay.

Lurch and I would like to thank Alexia and Apex Interactive (no relation to APeX in the game, we checked) for organising the event and giving us a great opportunity.

The framerate has been hugely improved with the patch. They said there is however a new patch in the works. And the framerate can frustrate the hell out of me. But overall right now it's a 9/10 game stuck in a 6/10 body. Regardless of the issues. I still like the game
