Unfortunately, it was the only way for Marvel to stay in business. They were pretty close to closing their doors when alot of their property was sold to keep the lights on.

Though of course Spider-Man has become Deadpool, mouth-wise these days.

I got myself the 2015 Marvel Comics Ultimate Character Guide and strangely the Fantastic Four and X-Men characters has been left out. No mention of even Wolverine or Deadpool.

However, they got huge push for the Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans characters.

Particularly the cosmic powered characters like Starfox and Adam Warlock.

Also a lot of the characters has been altered for match the movie version.

They're just variant covers, nothing more, no event. And pretty awesome ones I'd say. Certainly beats the hell out of Marvel's upcoming cosplay covers which look, frankly, horrendous.

Besides, WB owns DC and Looney Tunes, they can make the connection if they want.

While I disagree with DG that the Cosplay covers are ALL awful, he is right, this is just a fun variant cover that brings two WB properties together. Don't be surprised when Marvel does a Disney and Lucasfilm (SW and Indy) variant. I would love to have these covers as wallpapers as they are pretty cool.

Oh yeah and the Looney Tunes characters need some exposure, they have been absent from the public eye for far too long.
