@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.
MrOde

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.
Cathal
06 November at 12:01
I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.
DarkwingDuck
06 November at 11:44
For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

Only thing sony needs to show In my opinion is games. Lot's and lots of games, of all genres.

Also the bulk of them need to be exclusives, or at least exclusive too next generation.

Right now the main reason I do not own a PS4 is because there is sweet feck all on there that excites me that I cannot already get on my pc, ps3 or 360.

Show people the reason they want to go out and buy a ps4.

Full PS3 emulation for crying out loud, if Nintendo can do it so can Sony.

Ability to download all my PSN games and play them on PS4.

Stop with the enhanced ports please I already own the games.

For the love of God please announce good exclusive games, their console has none except for Resogun.

Enough with the indie games,90% of indie games are crap anyway let the indie devs do their thing and the gamers will choose what the want to play.

Better PS4 selection on PS+

Again Full PS3 emulation please.

Can I please get a wallpaper option and different themes?

Games, games and games.

Playstation Now is crap and just another way to squeeze money out of people who already bought the games because you don't want too add BC, I don't want to hear about it, leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Nintendo is able to do it because the architecture of the CPU on the Wii U and the Wii are very similar (wii u's cpu is literally just an overclocked wii)
So it's much easier for them to emulate.

Just because you own them doesn't mean that everyone else does.

PS3 and PS4 cpu's are very different and would take a huge amount of time to emulate the ps3 (there hasn't even been a working emulator from dedicated fans on the PC)
This is the only way they could get some kind of backwards compatibility for now, even if PS Now turns out to be a horrible mess

So the Gamcube and Wii have the same architecture? The PS1 and PS3 have the same architecture?

No one is saying it's a simple task, but it's something that should of been looked at during development, instead of trying to squeeze money from people who already own the games.

Didn't you get the memo? I am the only person that counts

I find it funny how people would rather pay R840 for the Last of Us for PS4 instead of picking up the PS3 version for R200-400 and playing it on PS4. Guess with like minded people like this gamers will continue to get shafted at every turn. Continue then

@DP PS3 emulation isn't that big a deal to me anymore. When I finally bought a PS3 I was upset that it had no PS2 emulation, then I realised that there was probably no way I was going to go back and play those PS2 games. And I don't think that my experience was isolated, I really think Sony accidently did the right thing as most people don't need BC even though they want it.

As for more games, I agree, the PS4 needs more games, the cupboard is far too bare at the moment, but the pipeline before E3 is promising.

I would not be surprised if they do mention a release. Seems like a good place for SEGA to make the announcement, especially if they have any other Sony related items to make known.

i think you kind of answered this. Sony aren't making new announcements because there is little reason to do so. PS4 is selling ahead of their own expectations and its on top against the competition (especially in March when it beat out the X1 and Titanfall launch).

Clearly, they have shown enough reason for the PS4 to be selling so well but wit hthe spectacle that is E3 it is finally time to start flexing what they are working on.

But I do think they will be on the conservative side. I dont see them going all out and announcing everything they have in development.

But its not a simple task. Why do you think there are still developers who cant programme well on the PS3? Its architecture is incredibly complex (and not in a good way). Even PS1/ PS2 emulation was not stable on the original PS3's and still aren't.

And it was looked at in development. They wanted BC in the first place but the costs in order to do so, and the added cost to each PS4 just proved not viable an option.

Lack of BC sucks, sure.

It isn't for me either, it's more about the ease of use and not having to keep consoles around. The moment it becomes a big deal for me is when Sony and other developers turn around and start giving us "remastered" versions of older games. The fact that I can download PS2 games from PSN should be reason enough for them to add a software emulation update, even if it only works for the supported games then it is something I should have access too without needing to purchase the games again.

Same with these PS3 "remasters", like are they trying to fool people? Tomb Raider looked great but it was the same game, The Last of Us will probably have extremely minor upgrades but they are happy to slap a R800+ price tag on it. All because Sony would rather play around with streaming software.

It's also funny how the most outspoken people against the negatives brought up are the one's who don't even own the damn console. #poorpeople

@ Dp - I love the HD trilogy and remastered editions on PS3 - They are great, especially when it has a better frame rate and remastered textures

Ico collection, Jak & Sly collection, Tomb raider - they were incredibly fun to play and some areas had very noticeable improvements

although these ps4 remasters seem to be happening a bit too soon after the PS3 release

Naughty dogs argument on Last of us was that many Xbox gamers that made the transition to PS4 as their next gen console, now have the opportunity to play it !bm

@DP Oh I agree on the remasters, I picked up a couple of the old PS2 remasters on PS3, but 2nd hand and TBH those games are not as great as I remember. AS for the PS4 versions of games released last year, nope I refuse. I bought and finished them last year and I refuse to pay full price for a game that has extremely minor graphical tweaks.

Snarky as ever, but you know what my point was. PS3 emulation aint happening.
However Ps1/ PS2 HD emulation has been rumoured for the PS4.

In regards to the HD remasters from ps2 to ps3 I bought a couple and loved a couple and the bulk of them gave you 2+ games in a set for bargin bin pricing.

Those are great, these PS4 remasters where its the exact same game just given a slight graphical update and thrown at full price are ludicrous. Especially it's games that were a year before the console came out.

Not really in my opinion they lack exclusives. I wont argue with you when it comes to console sales but honestly sony had a[censored] ton of a better launch plan than the XB1 had in terms of just getting the consoles out there.

It has killzone and infamous but both of those have seemed to be enjoyed far less than people hoped for I think. The bulk of actual people I know and not reviewers reaction to the new infamous is "Meh, It's pretty." Compared to when Infamous 1 arrived and everyone was going HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GAME!

as mooper says they need to show us good games, different games to me if they really want to make an impact at E3 this year. Most all make sure these games are exclusives that these games are going to be the "Sony Playstation 4 experience!", not the same kind of experience I can get on every other console.

Why did I love PS1 so much, because I got games on there I had never seen before. I had JRPGs coming out of my ears that were not on any other console. I know back then it was a lot easier to do that than it is now, Sony imo need to focus heavily and landing more interesting exclusive games.

Yes yes. Sony does really need to prove that point. i cannot deny that. I guess, what I am trying to say is that whereas I expect MS and Nintendo to bring their A game, I think Sony will not. And not because they cant but because they may feel they dont need to show off everything now.

for instance, Sony still has Gamescom and in recent years, their GC presser is arguably better than their E3. I do hope Sony goes all out.

They supposedly have many different projects in the line. Guerrilla's new game should be interesting since it is expected to be a WRPG which is something Sony has never had from their own studios before. So there is a start for trying new stuff.

Sony has already made a mistake and that is Kingdom Hearts 3 is multi platform

so Sony is going to have to pull out a couple of miracles

I like HD remasters because I could never afford games in the days of PS2

^^

they were value for money too. MGS collection MGS 2,3 and Peace walker all in HD for the under 500 bucks is a good deal for people who never played the games. People who enjoyed it enough would buy it again, reason I got the Kingdom hearts remaster because I loved those games and paying r420.00 for two games that I can play endlessly happy to do.

paying full price for a single game with minor improvements just to have it on a shiney new console? Yea no =p
