@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

Confirmed? What I read yesterday at another site said that an unnamed Ubi dev said this on NeoGaf or somesuch but there was no official word on this yet.

Why does this matter? Honestly these people so opposed to online stuff must PO from gaming. It's because of these people that we aren't able to sell digital games like MS planned from the start or have to jump through hoops to share games. It is 2016 almost every electronic device we own can connect to the net, options are available everyone. If you still aren't able to get online in some way then honestly you are just lazy or too cheap to pay for it.

Amazing how people will moan about something like this but are happy to purchase broken games that require internet to work properly anyway or buy new games that receive a patch a few weeks later that drastically change the game, wtf are people without internet doing about that?

On a side note I didn't even know this game has an SP campaign, thought this was online only so that's a plus.

There is a big difference between having internet and having reliable low latency internet.

Many people can download games, patches etc but cannot play MP etc due to the above.

It seems to be issue all around the world,

EDIT: on personal note I normally play offline but always play Forza, Telltale games etc. online due to the user feedback. I have been thrown out of my SP game when the wireless data goes down. Pretty annoying but fortunately rare.

Big difference between playing Multiplayer and playing a single player game that requires an internet connection. MP is a constant string of commands coming to a from players, data being constantly sent and received. Single player with online doesn't necessarily mean the same thing.

A perfect example is Dark Souls, playing that game with a constant internet connection makes zero difference to the overall performance of the game, it is only once a player joins in that you may have issues with things such as lag. No one will be able to tell you the difference whether you are playing online or offline in terms of performance.

If you don't have a stable connection and are worried about drops then look for a different game, so tired of people moaning about things that developers are implementing to improve the experience of their game.

Wait and see how it turns out before moaning about something, for all we know this game could still run on a cellphone hotspot connection on an edge network because it doesn't require massive data transfers and more of just a little ping to say I am still alive.

@DP While you have a point, data in SA is expensive. Just ask KF, IIRC, he doesn't have ADSL or Fibre because of cost. Some people are not fortunate enough to be able to indulge this hobby and have fast, reliable internet.

Secondly have you kept up with the Telkom LTE saga? Speeds have decreased dramatically over the past few months and they have started capping people at 350GBs.

Thirdly much of the push back to MS' plans for always online with this gen came from the US. The US, the world's last super power, inventor of the internet via DARPANet etc, etc, has shocking internet infrastructure. Most people, even in large cities like NYC, LA and San Diego do not have reliable internet services. Wait till you get to Ireland and have to deal with their internet service providers, they are terrible.

Should I only post news/links that you approve of?

Please take note when I posted the link I offered no opinion on the matter and thereafter only sort to explain the rationale of those who may have an issue.

There is nuanced difference between this and my personal opinion (which I have not offered).

What does posting news have anything to do with this?

I am talking on the response to the news, not about you directly. If you contributed to the link and gave an opinion then miscommunication may not be an issue. This is a forum surely we should be discussing things? If you are taking time out your day to find and post info surely you can give some personal input on it? If you feel my comments were directed at you instead of the people jumping on the bandwagon then again that is something for you to get over, giving personal insight into it might stop things like that in the future.

Ubisoft confirming always online even for SP campaign, check out the link:

http://www.pcgamesn.com/for-honor/for-honor-always-online

Perosnal input here

That may have been a far better post and not ended up with you feeling like your being attacked when you aren't.

The people complaining about this need to go play something else. Plenty games I want to play which I can't, but life moves on and lots of games out there to take the place of others. Stop holding back developers because what they envision doesn't fall into your bubble.

I guess we will see how many copies it will sell to see if it is an issue or not.

As far as the unsolicited advice on how to post, you where to put that

How will we see? Is there going to be a survey for every person that wants to buy the game with various reasons as to why they did or did not buy the game? Or is it just going to be one of those childish banters where the games sells badly and people go "ha, see I told you dumb developers making it online only" without any regard to the game being good or bad, or the game sells well and they never appear in the thread again? Is it one of those situations?

Some great games sold poorly this year and they didn't need to be online, so why did they sell badly?

I don't see how selling well or not will tell us anything about it needing to be online.

No need to get defensive about it, these are all different viewpoints.

You can't get defensive about something you don't really care about (hence the absence of a personal opinion).

There 'seems' to be a considerable amount of people who were excited about that game and who are now less so. This is merely an observation, mind and is based on reading the comments on a few sites. Hence my statement which you may erroneously think is my opinion or even my hope. Nothing could be further from the truth. I hope does it well.

I have often posted links/items that are of no real interest to me because I think they could be of interest to other people. This is one of them. Clearly I need to revise this.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Please do revise, maybe then people can have actual discussions on the points posted instead of someone getting upset about something they don't care about and proceed to waste time by responding on things they still don't care about

Discussions go better when all parties are interested in the points provided, especially when each have their own views and are willing to actually discuss them. Provides insight. One of the reasons I try not to discuss things, such as games, that I am not interested in, I bring nothing to the overall discussion and it just becomes a waste of mine and others time.

You shouldn't mistake a lack of interest in the thread subject with the fun I have had with your self important statements on how to post. A better grasp of pronouns is something to look into for the future.

Make no mistake here I have had fun today.

Seems the game will use the season pass in a similar way rainbow 6 siege does and imo that's a good thing.
