Elon Musk has taken to Twitter again, but this time, he wants to delve into creating games for the Tesla cars. We went from conquering space, to making video games. Elon is an interesting creature indeed.
It would appear that Elon Musk wasn’t exactly happy with just how little accidents were accumulating because of the Tesla’s self-driving feature, so he decided to find a new way of causing massive crashes - adding video games to cars.
The ambitious inventor sent out a tweet asking video game developers to apply at Tesla. The idea is to “integrate the centre touchscreen, phone & car irl,” which sounds like the making of a lot of ER24 visits.
A fan took to asking Elon if he was looking at a Pokemon Go for Telsa, and Musk said he would like something along those lines “but more of an adults in cars anime vibe.” For now, Tesla cars will be getting three classic Atari games in the V9.0 software update to come. The good news is that the car will have to be stationary to play these games, so your safety has been taken into consideration.
Musk is on the lookout for developers to create custom games for Tesla, and is asking developers to submit their previous work for viewing. The criteria will be based on “max playability & creativity”. Developers such as Jackbox, have already started offering their services to Tesla opting for a more comedic approach to the games passengers can play.
This being the internet, there was bound to be less serious responses. Jack Ryan said that it would only be a matter of time before Bethesda gets in touch to port Skyrim to the Tesla. Personally, I would like to see Tesla Royale make its way to the car. A game in which 100 Teslas duke it out in traffic and the winner get’s to take the emergency lane home. Elon, if you’re reading this, have your people call my people.
That being said, the first video games for Tesla should be coming later this month via the update. What do you think of video games coming into the motoring industry? Let us know in the comment section down below.
Will defend anything Dragon Ball. Occasionally has two-way conversations with himself. Has sleepless nights about Half-Life 3 confirmed.
