Beast of Reincarnation Debuts Combat Overview Deep Dive
Developer Game Freak has released some brand new gameplay for its upcoming action-RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, providing a deep dive into the game’s combat and fast-flowing action. The combat runs deeper than a simple button-masher as there are several mechanics to take note of to help you in your fights against nature’s most deviant creatures.
Beast of Reincarnation takes place in the year 4026 in Japan, 2,000 years after current day. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, players follow protagonist Emma the Sealer and her dog companion, Koo, as they journey across a ruined landscape slowly being overtaken by nature. Players will have to battle against everything from towering creatures to robotic foes as they explore and get to the core of the world’s secrets and mysteries.
The official blurb for the latest gameplay deep dive reads:
“Dive into the seamless combat system of Beast of Reincarnation in our official Combat Overview video. Developed by Game Freak, this unique action RPG blends real-time action with the tactical depth of turn-based strategy. Master the synergy between Emma and her loyal companion, Koo. Learn how to break enemy Down Gauges, execute perfectly timed parries to restore FP, and unleash devastating Bloom Arts to control the battlefield. From massive, blighted boss encounters to intricate team battles, experiment with an expansive skill tree to build your playstyle.”
Beast of Reincarnation’s dazzling visual art style has often been compared to Princess Mononoke and other Studio Ghibli films, while its gameplay and some creature designs seem to lift inspiration from the likes of Monster Hunter, Wild Hearts and a bit of Final Fantasy.
Beast of Reincarnation officially launches on 4 August 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
