So I have spent a good ten or so hours with Total War-hammer and it is effing brilliant. Very dense and the new assistant and wiki type guides do help, but the game and its map mechanics AND the tactics AND the settlement building AND, AND, AND are very, very intimidating. I have played a lot of Total War and I am often at a loss as to what I am doing.

My advice, as I am doing this, is start a campaign, mess up and restart. Also scour the net, there are a ton of race guides out there now. Weirdly there is no official strategy guide and I think that this is a game that really needs one.

Oh yeah and the dwarves are freaking awesome!
