@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

Still on the fence about this one in all honesty.

I will admitt the game looks pretty damn epic, personally I am happy they are going for a more action based game and the story looks pretty interesting.

What does miff me off slightly though is it feels like Final Fantasy the boyband edition. Not just because it's lacking any females but it's lacking any strange creatures or random sort of party memebers too.

Guys like Red, Cat Sith, Amarant etc... just something to break up the entire playable cast being good looking men.

I mean you have The Leader, The tough one, The smart one, the older one and pretty boy. Slap them on a stage with a microphone and a dance routine and done they will have the worlds teenage girls wanting it =p.

Admittedly though it's a minor gripe that's more just me [censored] from personal preference, something that can be very easily remedied by a well told interesting story and good game play.

The Iron Knight scene was new in that potato cam trailer, really hope we get a look at E3 this year. When this game comes out most likely will be when I buy a new console.

Because it feels more like an action game than RPG.

Because 12 Final Fantasy games , excluding the MMO's, have used a menu based or ATB battle system.

Because rich boy mafia problems. Can't relate.

You get shot at. :/ (This fine within the context of it's genre)

Not my kinda scene.

uhhh don't think you'd be able to relate to any of the ff characters so playing as rich mafia boy's shouldn't be a problem

i'm fine with the action based system. if they don't try something new the series is going to die out. the games been in development for 8 years if they just churn out more of the same the game is gonna flop so hard. also ffiii's atb system was awful. anything else is better than that. anyway its just a trailer all the rpg elements will probably become more apparent closer to the games release

Time based is pretty much dead as much as I enjoy my atb, if Square want to keep up with todays JRPG market they need to drop the time based.

From the gameplay video's though still seems like a selection based combat system much like kingdom hearts.

I can relate to tons of FF characters, what do you even mean?

@Woofels:
Yes in the console market, at least, menus is pretty much dead.

However it is still possible to create an RPG with action elements as opposed to full on action game. And so far, I'm not getting that vibe. It is also possible to incorporate an ATB into an action based system. One thing I saw for FF: Lightning Returns was a lot of praise for it's battle system.

Although I suppose it has a lot do as well with the fact I don't enjoy Kingdom Hearts, either.

This game looks amazing, is a pity there are no female characters in it though but should have my PS4 by the time this comes out.

This is the thing Final Fantasy is a console game, it always has been. 7 - 9 got pc releases but only a good while after their console counterparts. Games that use time based these days are becoming exceptionally niche and if Square want to produce Final Fantasy as a main stay title in the gaming world they have too keep up with their competitors, and lets be honest in the last generation FF was most certainly not king of the hill.

Even if they take a more action based approach to battle there is no reason it cant have a wealth of other rpg elements such as skills paths. crafting and everything else.

With this combat system I will probably pick up the game, only Final Fantasy game outside of the dissidia games that I might actually finish.

It's looking good but the characters seem off in animation, movements don't look fluid but that is most likely due to the models.

Here is hoping it has a great combat system like DMC, I'm all for that over choosing an attack and watching a clip play out over and over

I think you are going to be disappointed. The game is made by the Kingdom Hearts team. Nomura said years ago that it would play with a modified version of the KH system. It clearly looks like a variation of KH.

i don't think its going to be anything like DMC. I could be wrong

I've been waiting for this game since i found out about it back in 2011 when it was still called Versus Xiii. I think the change from turn based to real time is a good move and i agree with what Woofels has said.

I remember seeing in a much older trailer that one of the other characters you control uses a gun and the control scheme changes to that of a 3rd person shooter. If i can find the trailer on youtube i'd share but can't find it atm and the vid is old so there's a chance that it might not be in the finished game.

This game and Arkham Knight will end up making me finally buy a PS4.
