demo is out on the e-shop, nice trailer to go with it
well just finished the demo, it was very short(only one map but the title was DEMO A so i think there will be more than one) and well there were some thing that i really liked and some things that could really use a bit of work but for anyone who's a fan of srpgs or the original namco x capcom i still say its a must buy, because this is the closest anyone outside of japan will ever get to playing valkyria chronicles 3

okay to get the ugly stuff out of the way first controls need a bit of work, moving characters with the analogue on the grid got annoying very fast, the UI also needs a bit of work, very hard to tell which enemy your about to engage in combat and selecting which enemy you want to attack can't be done with the dpad either. the controls in namco x capcom are much better, i mean they really could have done a better job with those! the sprites on the map aslo look a bit chunky but not too bad, they didn't do a good job of explaining the system mechanics either so i was just mashing and dropping combos most of the time but i'm sure they'll explain everything thoroughly in the full game.
as for the things i liked,first things first! THE BATTLESCENES look amazing
it looks like namco x capcom but on steroids, sprites look fantastic, i could sit there and watch them fight forever 
and those supers oh yes! those supers! they didn't even look that good in the original games and omg if the moves in Valkyria chronicles 3 look anything like they do in PxZ i will cry that we never got that game 
. Looks like you can have a maximum of 5 characters beating the living snot out of a single enemy at once and it looks vicious X), also liked that each character get their own little bgm's when its their turn.i could instantly recognise all the gods eater ones, there were two characters that i wasn't too familiar with, the girl in the cowboy outfit and the nun? i think they might SRW characters i'll have to look them up later.
overall great game to have on 3DS. i doubt you'll find anything like it anywhere else. might want to grab it while you can because the chances of a game like this ever getting localized again are probably zero
btw did i mention there's a half naked lady in black? i wonder what the age rating is for this game !sick

well if you liked covenant of the plume don't see why you wouldn't like this either. its practically the same thing just PxZ supers look better.

I just wish I had a better grasp of the mechanics. I'll play the game a few times more though. Covenant was very strategic, PxZ seems more flashy. I don't doubt that there will be lots of depth but I'm not sold on it yet.

hmmm can't really comment on the game mechanics as i'm also not too sure even after playing the demo, i'm sure there's a good review on the web somewhere, although if i had to guess this is mostly just a fanservice game, not really expecting too much character development or any overly deep game mechanics. mainly just getting this because of the awesome crossover and epic supers(and also because god knows we'll never get another game like this ever again !sick) but if it helps i had no idea what i was doing when i played the demo, although that might have been more of an execution problem than a strategy one

I've heard loads of good things about Fire Emblem so that's probably going to be my next 3DS game. I got Monster Hunter for free thanks to Ninty's promotion so that will keep me busy too. If this does sell out and I end up regretting it, I might just fold and import it.

New demo was awesome some cool characters in this one. X sucks though he barely does any damage, get like 3000 with him then move over to Jin and you hit 8000 damage without any specials. Easily the lowest damage character from both demos.
Only complaint is it seems really really easy at this point.
