He should sue for slander. People need to stop being so sensitive and take a joke as a joke, what isn't right though is how the media took things out of context to paint it in a racist view. When I watched that video that the media place put out it looks terrible and paints him as this Nazi loving Jew hater but when you actually watch the content that stuff was a part of it's all satire. Really dumb what the media did and I hope he takes them to court for it, if it were me I would be pissed off as well. Context is everything here.

There is a big difference between freedom of speech and taking things out of context to portray someone in a totally different light.

I cannot say Scottie is a racist and try to prove it by then taking various words out of your numerous replies on AWX to paint you as a racist. It doesn't work like that. That is what they did, there was no freedom of speech there, a video was released with totally out of context material to paint a different picture of someone. Also he isn't pandering to anyone, he was making fun of situations that came about from the media hence the satire.

Additionally opinion is not slanderous in US law so he could try and sue the WSJ (who no doubt have a legal firm on retainer) but he would have no legal basis with all the opinion articles written on him which ironically are protected by first amendment which also protects making Nazi and other offensive jokes.

@DP I agree with you in regards to the actions of the media. Taking things out of context for the purpose of clickbait is a deplorable act. Suing for slander will most likely fail horribly because he would be held to the fact that freedom of speech in every country can only protect you so far.

However the video containing even if taken out of context where it displays the sign stating "Death to all Jews" is in no way satirical. Satire in my opinion requires wit something that he obviously lacks. He should have also understood the fact that he has over 50 million subscribers to his channel therefore he must think before he says anything especially if it relates to the worst crime against humanity

Note I listen to stand up comedy all the time and have an enormous amount of joke books that contain less than savoury jokes but I still understand the limitations of comedy.

The point viz Austria/Internet can be found in the Wired article. Regarding the Austrian it was for 'satire' but the Austrians are very sensitive as are many Europeans, you know what with huge loss of life in World War 2.

I have laughed at plenty of them. Jimmy Carr has some cracker Nazi/Jew jokes as do many other comedians about many other races and religions.

However a racist or actual Nazi telling me a joke would be something completely different. It comes down to simple minded people and open minded ones.
