@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

That is because the US store supported pre-order and pre-downloads, it was a pre-order exclusive in the US. Our store wasn't supported.

Why would you want to have cross buy anyway? I don't get it, I can understand if you could play it on Vita as well but PS4/PS3?

There is nothing good about that deal at all, they still ripping us off.

Apparently in EU territories (which typically means us too) you can still purchase it for the first 2 weeks with "cross buy" which may be why it's listed as "PS3/4 Bundle".

Still the price is rubbish at R299.

I put 2 hours into this on the Xbox 360 last night so here are some impressions.

Pros:

- The graphics have been improved with higher resolution backgrounds, detailed character/monster models and the background lighting (which was already massively improved in the GameCube remake) now affects the characters/monsters properly.
- 5.1 surround sound support was added for those with the setup.
- For those who my have never played the GC/Wii version, the game itself both retains the same overall plot/mansion design but frequently works in small new areas or slightly changes the routes through the mansion.
- The early game is more structured, with your route more clearly defined and small concessions to gameplay such as "green herb" boxes in locations near save rooms ensuring you never completely run out of methods to heal.
- The player now needs to consider how many zombies to kill vs. avoid as you are required to manage a new resource, in the form of kerosine, to burn downed zombies and prevent them from rising again later as much stronger "Crimson Heads".

Neutral:

- I still think the "Ink Ribbons" required to save your game could be scrapped. It's tense enough getting from save room to save room, and there's generally enough dished to ensure even the most cautious player won't run out. Also starting out as Chris, you'll end up with a useless knife and ink ribbons filling up 2 of your limited 6 inventory spaces within a few minutes of playing.

Cons:

- Some areas have received much less attention than other and it shows up easily against better backgrounds and especially the player models. This'll probably stand out even more in the PC/next-gen version as even at 720 resolution, the textures look upscaled and smoothed over.
- The new control option (as in not the "tank" controls) is rubbish. It makes character movement look both floaty and jerky, disconnecting them from the backdrop. It also makes avoiding zombies considerably easier as the player character can run, turn anywhere from 0-180 degrees, and continue running in the space of a few frames.

A few gripes aside, the re-remaster is an excellent port that mostly looks and runs great, retains all the mechanics of the original game, and is a great way for anyone who hasn't played the GC/Wii version to experience a version of Resident Evil 1 that far exceeded ambitions of the PS1/Sega Saturn version.

Getting the game today on the US store, R180 refuse to pay any money to our over priced local store. Cannot wait to play, even if they did nothing to this game it would still be the 2nd best Resident Evil game ever made. Can't wait to see this in movement, will def whip out the pulse for this.

@DP: When you purchase US versions, do you have to be logged in on your US profile to play?

Nope, on a PS3 the account just has to exists on the PS3, so you can't download the game switch to your main account and delete the US one.

On PS4 you just have to setup a new User and make it a primary account, it asks you during the setup process if you want it to be primary. As long as that's done you can play the game while logged onto any profile on the PS4.

Really informative thanks. I have SA and US accounts set up on my PS4 (but not my PS3). I wasn't 100% sure how it would work if I downloaded a game and have not yet splashed out the cash to find out. At least now I know.

So DP to clarify with a PS3 as long as the account exists on the PS3 then you can play the us game regardless if that account is logged in

Thanks for the info DP

Hmm, forgot about that pesky digital tax too. . . Makes the US PS4 version only ever so slightly cheaper.

Resident Evil has become Capcom’s fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe. The title which launched on January 20th has also broken the record for the biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network.
