Pokken is only at evo yo celebrate pokemons 20th aniversary and to provide a nice showcase of the game. I think people forget that evo is as much a convention for the FGC as it is a tournament...

I think it looks like a pretty nice fighting game, just wish they used more unique Pokemon like Gardevoir, Gengar and Chandelure
And less of the done to death ones like Pikachu, Charizard and Suicune

Pokken is only at EVO cause Mr Wizard got a fat cheque to put it there. If it was just for the anniversary then they could just show it there and have a side tournament with all the other games. Only a select few make it to the Evo stage and Pokken getting there was clearly because of a payout.

Or because it looks like a solid fighting game (despite some flaws) and is made with the intervention of two big names in video games, Tekken and Pokemon.
At a fighting game convention, which you know, suits the game perfectly

It's Tatsunoko all over again except that game got in on merit, sadly it died due to it's platform.

Any proof on the game being "dead" in Japanese arcades ecxcept which is most likley a neogaf post...jeez, I dont usually like using the S word but man your salty...its gonna be there only this year. KOF 14, Tekken 7 and the usual suspects will highlight the show next year don't worry. As for Blaze Blue...yeah, Guilty Gear Xrd is a waaaay better anime fighter/air dasher

Yes it's pretty general knowledge that Pokken is doing poorly in japanese arcades, arcades have also reported very low turn over from the game. Surely anyone following the game would be up to date with things like this or are we just jumping on the band waggon now?

I don't have any issue with the game being in, I tend to only watch EVO on Sundays and Pokken will not have a prescenece on Sunday, what I am merely saying is people should not to be fooled that the game got there on it's own merit, saying something like that is an insult to melee.

I am up to date with all things Pokemon, this is news to me, I have heard news that one arcade dropped it due to poor turnover, the media however loved to clickbait the[censored] out of it and phrased it as "Pokken dropped from Japanese arcades!"

But considering it was just as I said, one arcade, I doubt it's the games fault and more the circumstances around it, open up an Ed Hardy store in the middle of Town and expect major profit is a fool's delight.

This might have been one of those circumstances, it just didn't do well in that particular arcade.

But hey, I am sure you know more about Pokemon than I.

What does knowing more about Pokemon have anything to do with a game with 16 playable Pokemon?

1 pokemon fighting game releases and now everyone is a knowledge base.
