@Richter

I do recommend Replicant. But the original PS3 release is something I have a massive soft spot for. I bought it on release and it looked kind of dated and didn't look great.

But the story and especially the soundtrack is what blew me away. What an amazing game till this day. Except grinding my ass off for the platinum to upgrade all my weapons.

They did make the grinding easier in Replicant. I highly recommend it, you're going to love it.

Mafia 3 is set in a reimagined New Orleans in 1968, one of the most tumultuous years in American history. This version of New Orleans is bustling with activity, complete with era-inspired cars, fashion and music.

I played the second one on PS3.
The story & characters are VERY good! But the actual game play & semi open world, not so much.

Can't wait to play this new one though!!!

Had much the same feeling. Excellent story and the open-ish world felt authentic but gameplay-wise there was nothing worth doing except to progress from plot-mission to plot-mission. It was similar to how the open-world setting of L.A. Noire was just a great background to the plot.

I'll be keeping an eye on this though.

The previous game was great but it was a linear game set in small sandbox with no side missions!

It was however an authentic period game which was breath of fresh air in all this futuristic bollocks we get today. This did make car chases so slow though but the 60s muscle cars in this game will sort this out.

Eurogamer loves the setting but says it seems like 'a stage for little more than mindless murder'.

Hangar 13 And 2K Won't release Mafia 3 in a buggy state

There have been many AAA video games that have been released in buggy states. Hangar 13 is promising that Mafia 3 will not be one. The game will be polished and bug-free upon launch. That is why there is no commitment to a release date.

I remember CD Projekt Red saying the same thing, meanwhile 18+GB later ...

You can never guarantee a bug free piece of software, that is just impossible.

Yeah, I remember that as well

@Magius If you do a decent job of it, it can happen. The GTA series is a prime example.
