Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

Just my 2c here but trust is more important that shipping, Nexus gets the imported niche titles you cant find anywhere else, they keep you updated when theres issues and support is readily available.

Just for that pure customer service, Id pay R50 any day

I was just wondering, how much life does the current XBOX and PS3 got left, with the release of the new versions on the horizon?

Just look at the PS2 and PSP, they still going strong, you event get these two systems brand new.

I am not considering getting a new system soon.

Sony is still planning to support PS3 for atleast the next few years as the user base is so large and im sure 3rd party publishers will to because of that.

I havent seen many announcement for new first party games from MS for the 360 other than the HD remake of Fable but again, there wont be a short supply of 3rd party stuff as well im sure, at least for the next year or two.

So I say the next two years will be strong for the current gen - but I'm sure the really exciting new stuff will all be on next gen

2-3 years at least. Unless they want to be b@stards and pull support, in which case they will get lynched. PS3 still has a massive amount to offer especially with platinum editions etc...

Still a ton of life left in both consoles.

The libraries are huge these days, there's D3/Watch Dogs/ FFXIV/ Dark Souls 2/ Asscreed 4/ Witch & The 100 Knights/ Xillia 1 & 2/ Symphonia remake etc... all still coming for these consoles.

Still a good long while left in them imo

I know ea and some other devs said they will support the current gen at least till 2017 so that's another 4 years but the thing is I can't see the ps3/360 getting any major exclusives since the ps4/xb1 will be out

360 will die off before the PS3.

i dont think the xbox has any noticeable exclusives coming for it anymore.
PS3 still has Sony exclusives, 3rd party exclusives and Indies coming this year and well into next year.

MS said they would still support Xbox 360 for 5 years at this years E3 (Unlike the Xbox which died as soon as the Xbox 360 came out).

Dragon Age 2 and Mad Max will come out late 2014 on both PS3/X360. For me it will be full steam ahead on both until at least end 2014 with a gradual decline thereafter.

They easiy have another 4-5 years left. Sadly though that will probably not happen. The next-gen consoles are coming too early, we don't need them at this stage and the fact that amazing titles are still being released on PS3/360 till March next year shows that.

First generation of consoles I just don't want at the moment cause they aren't needed.

The nice thing, I found a lot of XBOX hot titles very cheap the last month.
And you still got the second hand market

Right now we've still got alot of PS4 and Xbox 1 titles still coming out for PS3 and 360, so there's still some life left in the machines. However I don't see them lasting for the 4-5 year length that the company's have stated. I think we'll start to see more shovelware titles on this gen of machines in that time frame (think Ben 10 titles and stuff like that) as developers and publishers choose to focus on making games for the new generation. It's only natural as the costs to develop games increase, along with the time frame etc, for them to focus on these titles rather than to split development between the older platforms versus the new.

^ I think the 5 years bit is XBL/PSN and thus MP support. I suspect the good games will dry up 2-3 years before.
