So having had some proper play time with
LEGO Dimensions I would have to say this has been one of my favourite LEGO games to date. The respect the developers have given to each franchise included is great, you feel like they love the brands as much as the players, and have made the effort to ensure each universe is engaging and unique. The core LEGO gameplay mechanics are solid, and the base feels like an actual interactive element, not just a means to load characters in the world.
The featured
Portal element is amazing !love, granted it makes up a small portion of the campaign, the puzzles are fun and there is expanded content available with the
Level Pack. Ellen McLain reprises her role as GLaDOS, and the humor is on par with the Portal series, as she taunts players throughout the various Aperture Laboratories tests. *spoiler*
The game even features a GLaDOS credits song, written by Jonathan Coulton and sung by Ellen McLain as well as a guest appearance from HAL 9000 */spoiler*
We have recently listed a bundle for the
Starter Set with the
Doctor Who content (both the Level and Fun packs), which is on promotion until the games local release. The
Tardis, which is featured in the Level Pack, is required to access certain areas within LEGO Dimensions along with two easter egg areas. By itself the Starter Pack offers around 15 - 20 hours of gameplay, and the Doctor Who content is an estimated 3 - 5 hours of additional content.
Some things to note about LEGO Dimensions:
The campaign will take you through a majority of the featured franchises, and the characters included in the Starter Pack will allow you to finish the story, although other characters (or items / vehicles) with specific abilities will be required to access extra areas or items within levels. The hub world has portals to zones of the various franchises, and a character from that universe is required to use the corresponding portal. These zones are different levels to those of the story campaign.Level Packs feature specific levels which are not featured in the story campaign or hub world zones, and have their own mini-campaign featuring the character included with the pack. The game requires a patch, but this does allow for you to 'rent' a playable character for a short peroid to unlock in-level bonuses. Unfortunately this does not apply to accessing zones, you must own a character to do so.
The local release is currently listed for September 1st, and suppliers will be launching the Starter Packs along with the first five waves of the series, with wave six launching at the end of September. This means that we will then be up to date with the international releases, and receive future waves as they launch worldwide.

We already have listings for some of the next season content, including the new
Ghostbusters,
Sonic the Hedgehog,
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, and
Adventure Time to list a few. Check out our campaign page by
