Yes, the East Rand Mall isn't what it used to be anymore. But it's nice to get out of Secunda for a change. Our mall here seriously sucks.

People complaining about not enough dams during water shortages and now they complain when they're given more.

Government just can't win.

@IkariX That hole is filled with water, might as well call it a lake now.

I used to go to the mall every weekend back in the day.
But all the good shops have closed.

Yes, that hole sucks, and it sucks having to take the side road now. Because even that is starting to look like crap.

Me and my sister go to the East Rand Mall and flea market regularly. We have a mall where I live, but it's[censored].

We also have a giant hole here in Boksburg.
Sinkhole took out a whole road, been 3 years, still not fixed.
Think they should also make it an attraction now.

Japan certainly knows how to nurture its geek community.

Yeah to a degree. Things like OP are not really nerd community in Japan though.

J-world has jump anime theme songs playing the entire time. While we were eating this came on!

And instantly everyone in the tour group stops eating and started singing along. I'd say about 90% of the group are massive One Piece fans. We all know this song by heart. lol!

The entire group came in from the UK. Me and Felicia were the only ones from another country.
Cool bunch of people. All anime/manga fans so everyone got along and had lenghy anime discussions.

Visit to the Meji shrine in Harajuku

Btw, don't walk in the middle of the huge path here. That belongs to the gods. That's their part.

Sake barrels.

Wine barrels gifts from the french hundreds of years ago.

Some people like to purify themselves before entering:

Other pics of the shrine now:

Japanese usually take their culture really seriously. As much as an anime can be exaggerated, the environments (and societal actions in some cases) are pretty accurate, unless the context of the world is clearly fictitious.

@Phreak
what time did you see the Harajuku cosplayers? I have been there on 2 separate Sundays but always appear to miss them.

What about the whole "getting a cold" scenario? In pretty much every anime ever, somebody gets a cold and it's pretty much the same as Ebola. Or somebody gets splashed with 10ml of water and everybody panics because "Oh Noes! U will Getz a cold!" Are colds that bad, or is it just a running joke?
