So Ninty is jumping on the Skylanders and Disney Infinity wagons. Not a bad thing at all. Those figures look cool, wouldn't mind buying them at all.

Only seen these now - no interest in any game that uses them but there are several I must have

surprise surprise, they dont announce what it actually does.

Ammibos look great if you want to add to your figurine collection. But actual use in games... that info is pretty lacking.

Those things are gonna sell like hotcakes regardless...especially in the States. Those American's love Nintendo Merchandise...this won't boost actual Console sales though, I can tell that much.

All I know is Kirby and Pikachu are going to be sitting either side of my Wii U.

So basically, the Amiibo's act like "training partners" and you modify their play-style by training with them, and then they mimic it (I really don't get this at all, here's a video)

So basically its a glorified memory card, yet it carries only one data only for the character your amiibo is?

Sounds so useless.

And some of the final models dont look that good. Especially Marth... though I still look forward to a Metaknight one. I hope.

I take it you saw those articles too about the Amiibo's "not looking so great" yeah, marth's sword was all bendy and wii fit trainer had this weird "plastic boot thing"...I dunno, I'm still waiting to see them in person before I cast any judgement, but their usage in the actual games look kinda, well...boring.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Capatin F and Little Mac look at least semi-decent, then I'll pick those up...otherwise, I'm better off just importing actual High End nintendo merch from somewhere else if I really wanted to I guess...

Im hoping to see them in person soon too, just to make sure. But some of those pics did seem to suggest the quality of the final product it pretty meh. Which is understandable since its being made for mass consumption.

I think the problem with Amiibo usage is that we just know nothing about them. And also because we now know that some amiibos just have severely limited usage. Like Cpt Falcon (sadly) is pretty much regulated to Smash only.
