@KF500 - Been playing since Monday night (the digital preorder unlocked early) and it's hard to argue with any of Sterling's criticisms (I also not a fan of the Souls-like mechanics and cheap enemies) . That said, the combat system makes boss battles and any one-on-one combat enjoyable, the narrative is picking up speed, and the exploration of the sprawling, interconnected world remains as satisfying as ever.
Go into this game expecting anything on par with some of the big titles this year and you'll be disappointed. Gunfire Games small budget and even smaller team size are obvious. I'm most reminded of Lords of Shadow 2 - grand ambitions curtailed by budget constraints and iffy implementation.
As a fan of the series, it's the weakest in the series and I'd score it 6 or 7/10 so far. If you're looking for more Darksiders, you'll get your fix, but damn, they need to release a patch or two to fix performance issues before I'd recommend it to everyone.
